Pink Tutu Blog: London Calling! #1500 šŸ©°šŸ’–

Hello, darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina, Emma, and guess what? I’m back in London! It feels absolutely magical to be in the capital once again, the energy is electric, and my toes are already itching to pirouette on the cobbled streets (maybe not quite literally!).

I arrived this morning by train – honestly, nothing beats a train journey for scenic views and time to reflect. The journey itself is always such a part of the adventure. And of course, a well-planned outfit is essential! This time, I opted for a blush pink maxi-dress with a delicate floral print, a black vintage jacket with a hint of lace, and my trusty pink ballet flats – perfect for traversing the London Underground and dodging tourists. Naturally, a touch of pink glitter on my eyes completed the look.

And oh my goodness, London is buzzing! Everywhere I look, there's colour, life, and most importantly – fashion! It's like the entire city is dressed in a flamboyant catwalk. The locals are rocking bold colours, floral patterns, and even the occasional daring hat. I'm totally getting inspiration for my next performance costume already!

But enough about me, let’s get to the fun stuff! Today's London adventure started at the grand and glorious National Gallery. Can you imagine, paintings worth millions of pounds just sitting there, waiting for me to admire them?! I love the energy and grandeur of these historical museums.

First stop – the "Sunflowers" by Vincent van Gogh. Now, I know you might think "Sunflowers" and ballet are a bit of an odd combo, but there’s something about the vibrancy and movement in the painting that gets my creative juices flowing. Imagine dancing like the swirls of golden yellow paint – just pure bliss!

Afterwards, it was straight into the "Sandro Botticelli’s ā€œVenus and Mars.ā€ You all know my love for fashion history, so this was a must-see for me. The flowing robes and exquisite details had me captivated. There's a delicate beauty in the way Botticelli captured the female form that just makes me want to dance – especially that iconic curve of Venus’s hand!

After a morning of art appreciation, a "ballet-friendly" lunch was needed – a delicate salmon and cream cheese sandwich from a charming cafĆ©, topped off with a cup of Earl Grey. You simply can’t have a London experience without a proper afternoon tea, but I have a special treat planned for that later, darling.

Now for the reason I truly came to London – ballet!

It was an absolutely divine performance of "The Sleeping Beauty" at the Royal Opera House this evening. I literally gasped when the curtain went up and saw the grand set and intricate costumes. It was like stepping into a fairy tale, full of romance, wonder, and of course, stunning choreography. The Aurora’s iconic Rose Adagio made me want to take my tutu and leap onto the stage!

Of course, the entire experience wouldn't be complete without a visit to a few ballet-themed boutiques in Covent Garden! I was on the hunt for some new accessories for my upcoming performances. And let me tell you, I didn't come away empty-handed! I snagged a pair of exquisite ballerina earrings with delicate rose gold details.

Before I head off to find the perfect cup of tea in a cozy little cafƩ (a real must!), let me share a little inspiration for you all:

Embrace your inner ballerina! It doesn’t matter what size, shape or age you are – just find your perfect tutu and dance with confidence and joy.

This evening, my fellow pink tutu devotees, I'll be at the ā€œDancing in the Darkā€ showcase in Soho. Imagine a warehouse full of emerging ballet dancers showcasing their talent! I simply had to check it out! And let's be honest, a London trip without a visit to Soho just wouldn’t be complete.

I’m thinking of trying out a different style for my outfit tomorrow, maybe something with more feathers and fringe for a little bohemian vibe! Who knows, maybe I'll even try my luck at some street dance classes… that’s what I call taking it to the next level, don’t you think?

Keep an eye on the website next week for another exciting update from the city of dreams. I can’t wait to show you all what else London has to offer!

Until next week, happy dancing everyone!
