Pink Tutu Blog London: Friday 2025-09-19 - Exploring the City of Lights, Glamour, and… Pink?!

Hello, darling readers! Welcome back to my little corner of the internet, Pink Tutu Blog London. It’s Emma here, your resident pink tutu-wearing ballerina, ready to take you on another adventure through the streets (and sometimes, the cobblestone lanes) of London. This week, it’s a very special one. Why? Because… (drumroll) it’s my 1516th post! Can you believe it?! Over 1500 weeks of pink tulle, sparkling stories, and all things lovely! I can hardly contain my excitement.

Now, as you all know, I have a bit of a weakness for train travel. It’s just so romantic, so utterly charming, so quintessentially British. And speaking of charming, this week's trip to London started with a jaunty journey from Derbyshire on the morning train. A cup of tea, a book, and of course, my pink tutu peeking out from my tote bag – pure ballet bliss!

Speaking of ballet bliss, this week’s funding for my London spree came from my usual gig: a dazzling ballet performance at the local theater. You know me, I just love getting the chance to dance for others, and of course, to dazzle the audience with my trusty, much-loved pink tutu!

But enough about my latest dance performance, we're here to talk London, baby! I’ve been planning this Friday jaunt for weeks. You see, the weekend is jam-packed with special events, and I simply must be part of the excitement. Today, the 19th of September, the whole city seems to be alive with a vibrant energy! And why? Because it’s the annual London Vintage Fashion Festival, and I am practically vibrating with excitement.

But let's take a quick detour for a second, because there's something extra special I need to share with you lovely readers. This week, Pink Tutu Blog has taken a step up – literally! I’m now on Instagram, and on Tik Tok! Follow along and catch all my latest adventures in London and beyond! Links are at the end of this post. 😉

So, back to my London spree, darling! This morning started bright and early. You know the drill – quick croissant at the station, a dash of eyeliner for that extra London glamour, and then I’m off exploring the city like a whimsical pink tutu wearing explorer. I've always loved getting lost in the heart of London. There’s just so much beauty in the hidden courtyards, the cozy cafés, the magnificent architecture… every corner is a story waiting to be told.

For this week's exploration, I'm keeping it vintage and glam. So naturally, my day started at the Museum of London. What better place to get lost in the fascinating history of this dynamic city than amongst its relics and stories? Did you know, the Romans used to walk these streets too?! My little ballet heart almost skipped a beat when I saw the Roman chariot. Imagine twirling on these cobbled streets with such elegance. Perhaps I’ll take a twirl later on in my pink tutu… just to be dramatic.

From there, I was swept away by the whirlwind that is the London Vintage Fashion Festival. Now, this event is truly a kaleidoscope of colours, patterns, and sheer vintage style. Think bell bottoms, fluffy dresses, psychedelic prints, and vintage fascinators - enough to make any fashion-loving heart flutter! Of course, I was completely captivated. There’s something magical about vintage fashion – a tangible link to the past, a piece of history in every fold and stitch.

Naturally, I couldn't leave without picking up a few treasures. After all, there’s no better way to showcase your personal style than with unique, vintage finds. Today’s haul includes: a silk floral scarf for a pop of colour (imagine the stunning swirls against the backdrop of the Tower Bridge!), a dazzling beaded belt (a perfect addition to my vintage dress – perhaps even a pink one!), and, of course, a pair of delicate vintage shoes, perfect for twirling along the streets of London.

Speaking of London, darling, have you seen the colours of autumn? A breathtaking symphony of orange, gold, and fiery red paints the parks and pathways with such artistic magic. As I strolled through Hyde Park, I felt inspired, mesmerized by the fiery hues reflecting against the elegant Georgian buildings. London has a knack for mixing modernity with history, and that contrast makes it truly stunning. I even captured some stunning photos – expect to see them on Instagram this weekend.

Lunchtime in London! As a self-proclaimed ballet-obsessed foodie, my lunch was no ordinary meal. Oh no, darling! It was at a quaint little café near the Royal Opera House. I've been dying to try this hidden gem! It's not on every tourist guide, but it's filled with so much charm, with floral wallpaper and the softest of piano music playing in the background. I felt transported back in time. They have the most exquisite raspberry tart with cream, and let me tell you, it’s heaven on a plate.

Afternoon was dedicated to what I truly love – the Theatre District! There is nothing quite like that exhilarating hum of theatre-goers on a Friday evening, ready to lose themselves in the world of art, imagination, and entertainment. London's theater scene is a kaleidoscope of creativity and passion.

Tonight, I was mesmerised by the most magical performance at the National Theatre. It was a ballet inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Talk about dramatic, passionate, and full of elegant flourishes. It was almost enough to make me want to dance myself… perhaps I’ll bring out my pink tutu for a spontaneous performance later. You know me, a bit of impromptu twirling always lightens the mood.

But before my impromptu dance break, I couldn't resist a detour for some shopping. I must admit, there is simply nothing like the feeling of wandering the streets of London, browsing the boutiques and finding the perfect new outfit to add to my wardrobe. I picked up a vintage-inspired hat that could rival even the fanciest of hats from the royal family, a blush pink silk scarf that whispers of Parisian romance, and a new pair of high-heeled flats (perfect for those spontaneous London dances!).

But let me tell you, the highlight of my shopping spree wasn't just about the things I bought – it was about the people I met. As I was admiring a stunning vintage dress, a kind lady stopped by to chat. We were talking about vintage finds and, well, she just happened to mention her pink tutu collection! Needless to say, I nearly did a pirouette right then and there in the middle of the shop. The perfect pink tutu – it is a rare gem!

And so, my London journey for the week is drawing to a close, filled with a mix of fashion, ballet, and vibrant discoveries. London, you never fail to charm and amaze. And for those of you who think I'm crazy for my pink tutu adventures, let me say this: I wouldn’t trade these experiences for anything. After all, it’s not about the colour of your tutu – it’s about the magic you find when you dare to twirl through life. And remember, it's never too late to embrace your inner ballerina and discover your own little pink tutu journey!

Until next time, darling readers! And, of course, keep an eye on my social media – Instagram (@PinkTutuEmma) and Tik Tok (PinkTutuLondon). Don't forget, we're all about spreading that pink tutu magic!

Love, Emma
