Pink Tutu Blog London: #1517 - A Tutu-ful Friday in the Capital!

Hello darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite pink tutu wearing ballerina, and today I'm so excited to share my London adventures with you all! As usual, the train journey from my Derbyshire home was a dream. It’s hard not to feel a thrill when you see that iconic London skyline peeking over the rooftops.

This week’s travels have been fuelled by the exhilarating rush of a packed ballet performance - and as you know, all that twirling burns up the energy. So, naturally, my inner shopaholic had to be indulged, which brings us to today, Friday 26th September! A day dedicated to discovering the city's vibrant spirit, indulging in fabulous fashion, and of course, ballet, because darling, let's face it - what is life without a little graceful pirouette?

First Stop - The London Eye: A High-Flying Pink Tutu Perspective!

As a firm believer in viewing the world through rose-tinted lenses - and of course, with a sprinkle of pink tutu - the London Eye seemed like the perfect place to kick off our London day. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see all those iconic London sights from a Ferris wheel high above the Thames? The view from up top was absolutely breathtaking! It’s like the entire city lays out before you like a miniature wonderland, filled with beautiful architecture, bustling streets, and lush green spaces. Even better, I couldn't resist capturing a few Instagram-worthy photos in my favourite pink tutu, the Eye was the perfect backdrop! It almost looked like I was dancing on the clouds, and don’t get me started on how good the photo looked against that amazing cityscape!

Shopping in Covent Garden: Where Style Meets Performance

Now, darling, after such an exhilarating climb, what’s a girl to do? That’s right - hit the shops! Covent Garden has always held a special place in my heart. It's like a bustling theatrical hub, overflowing with vibrant energy and some truly magnificent shopping. And while you're already there, don’t miss the Royal Opera House, a place of pure elegance, that I’ve found to be just brimming with inspiration. Today, it wasn’t about the performance - although the Royal Opera House does have a brilliant calendar of performances! I was drawn in by its elegance. A reminder to look for beauty and inspiration in unexpected places - just like wearing a pink tutu!

Speaking of inspiration, Covent Garden is a haven for independent boutiques and vintage finds - which is right up my alley! My favourite? A tiny shop called “Vintage Threads” on the corner of Neal Street, filled with vintage dresses that simply whispered stories of bygone glamour. There were lace bodices begging for a twirl, and satin gowns that would make you feel like a princess in a fairytale! Now, that's a girl's dream!

And because there's no escaping it - sometimes, a little luxury does a girl good, darling! I confess to being a total sucker for the Chanel counter at Liberty. Just a tiny detour to try out the new blush colour for spring - nothing too outrageous. Well, you know how it is... you end up trying everything, the assistant even brought out this beautiful pair of pearl earrings that just went so well with my tutu... and well, it wouldn’t be London if you didn't treat yourself now, would it?

Afternoon Tea in Bloomsbury: A Classic Treat with a Pink Tutu Twist

No trip to London is complete without afternoon tea, darling. I opted for the quintessential British experience at The Orangery in Kensington Gardens, surrounded by lush green foliage.

The tea selection was phenomenal, and every single one of the delicate pastries was absolutely divine. Oh, and those finger sandwiches! Don’t even get me started! Honestly, every mouthful tasted like pure bliss, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good old cuppa with a good gossip with the girls. We even had a impromptu “tutu tea party” and tried on our hats - oh my gosh the giggling - it was so much fun!

The Ballet Theatre: Seeing the Stars Sparkle on the Stage!

Speaking of twirling and inspiring fashion - I've had my sights set on catching a show at The Royal Ballet this week! Seeing these incredible artists perform is what fills my creative cup, giving me so much inspiration for my own choreography. It's a chance to lose myself in the magic of ballet, to feel those soaring leaps, the graceful steps, and those breathtakingly beautiful costumes, the artistry, the sheer power, it truly takes my breath away. I just had to indulge in a ballet experience during my London stay! Tonight’s performance of Swan Lake was phenomenal. Such expressive choreography! And what stunning costuming. If ever there was a ballet to put me in a state of dreamy wonder, it’s Swan Lake! It's more than a dance. It’s a symphony of emotions set to music. You know, they even had a “pink” scene! They had this whole beautiful choreography, and there were ballerina’s in this dreamy soft pink chiffon and they just floated across the stage in such grace and elegance… and they just floated, darling, they really floated!

The Pink Tutu Power

After an evening immersed in the sheer brilliance of The Royal Ballet, it’s amazing how inspired you feel. It’s almost as though watching such artistry really sets your own creativity on fire, a spark you take with you to continue the journey.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a pink tutu blog without talking about that very important ingredient. It seems the London Eye wasn’t the only place where I caught people’s eyes in my pink tutu! Darling, the Covent Garden Market is the place to be if you want to be noticed, so it’s only right that you make a fashion statement - that’s what’s fun about the city, right? The variety of characters that are all just going about their day. But my favorite encounter was a lovely gentleman at The Orangery! He actually complimented my pink tutu! Can you imagine - someone actually complimented my tutu! He told me he loved the "joyful splash of colour"! How darling is that? And how true - pink really does bring a touch of joy. That’s the whole idea of this blog. Sharing this joyous and hopeful message, with the hope that more and more people will see the beauty of embracing the colours in life! The brighter the colours the better. You'll find so many delightful things when you let yourself be playful. Think about it. What’s better - grey or pink? What better than an outfit that reminds you to tap into your inner ballerina? There's something so special about the colour, so playful, and oh so stylish.

Travel with Me

So darling, remember - Pink Tutu Power is a state of mind, a vibrant, creative energy. You don’t have to be a ballerina to embrace it! Wear pink, wear your passion. Do the things that set your spirit free. Take a trip, enjoy a fancy tea party, maybe even add a pink tutu to your wardrobe - even if it’s just for a fun night out!
