Hello lovelies! It's Friday, which means it's time for another Pink Tutu Blog London post! This week I've swapped the Derbyshire countryside for the bustling streets of London, and let me tell you, it's a whirlwind of excitement!
As always, I travelled in style, of course! The train journey was a delight. It's just so calming, gazing out the window as the scenery zips past, a glass of pink prosecco in hand. š¾ Pink tutu, naturally!
Speaking of tutus, this trip is all about celebrating everything pink and twirly, which is a given, but this time, itās in London. London has always been a place I adore for its energy and its endless supply of shops. Honestly, who needs a holiday when youāve got Oxford Street? But first, letās get this Friday feeling going with some London highlights:
A Friday at the Royal Opera HouseAs I type this, I'm still basking in the magical afterglow of an absolutely sensational ballet performance at the Royal Opera House. I simply had to get tickets for Romeo and Juliet, itās a timeless masterpiece.
Stepping into the Royal Opera House is always an event in itself! You can practically feel the history within these hallowed walls, the echoes of generations of dancers and music filling the air. The theatre itself is simply breathtaking; a grand chandelier that could easily take centre stage!
Tonightās production was utterly mesmerising, from the delicate, graceful movements of the dancers to the dramatic score that pulled you straight into the heart of Verona. The costumes, oh my, were absolutely breathtaking! I couldn't help but daydream about what it would be like to twirl on that stage, wearing one of those exquisite, shimmering gowns.
Afterwards, I headed to the Opera Bar for a spot of post-ballet glamour. You simply can't beat a cocktail or two (perhaps something fruity?) after an enchanting performance. Itās all about keeping that Friday feeling going! šø
London Fashion - All Things Pink!Oh my goodness, the shopping! I mean, let's be honest, I practically lived at Selfridges all day. Pink tutus were practically flying off the shelves. Did I buy a few for myself? Perhaps. Let's just say thereās never enough pink tulle in a girlās life!
Selfridges was such a beautiful backdrop for some Instagram shots, with the glistening, glass exterior reflecting the glittering city. And who better to be a pink ambassador than a little bird wearing a pink tutu? #PinkTutuInLondon
Thereās a real āmore is moreā vibe in London fashion right now, and it suits me to a tee! Layering on bold colours, sequins, and feathers. Itās all about having fun with it, letting your personality shine through your wardrobe!
However, it wouldnāt be a trip to London without popping into the iconic Liberty London. Thereās something truly unique about this beautiful shop, itās all about luxurious fabrics and handmade pieces, all beautifully displayed. I especially loved the scarves! My wardrobe will never be the same again, let me tell you!
Food with a ViewNo trip to London would be complete without a spot of high tea. Afternoon tea is a quintessential British experience that never gets old, especially when it's coupled with a stunning view.
Today, I treated myself to afternoon tea with a difference! A decadent, modern twist on a classic, taking in the panorama over the city from a rooftop restaurant. The panoramic views were simply magical. Honestly, I think this view could tempt anyone into wearing a pink tutu! #PinkTutuView
The Streets of LondonAfter a day filled with beautiful ballet, delicious food, and some serious shopping, there's no better way to unwind than by wandering the streets of London. The energy is so vibrant and exciting; I could happily spend days simply strolling along the cobbled streets and soaking up the atmosphere.
Of course, itās all about embracing the beauty of the city ā the parks, the historic buildings, and all the little nooks and crannies hidden in plain sight. You know I like to find some gems. Especially the charming, independent boutiques. A real treasure trove of inspiration for the everyday fashionista, me. And of course, the opportunity to grab a fab new accessory!
A Night at the TheatreItās a truth universally acknowledged that there is nothing quite like a trip to the theatre for a fantastic Friday night out. I was utterly delighted to see The Lion King, at the Lyceum Theatre. The visual spectacle alone was an amazing journey ā all those dazzling costumes!
The iconic music transported me right back to my childhood, and it brought tears to my eyes as I remembered my first love for theatre. I think thatās one of the beauties of theatre, the sense of shared wonder and emotion ā it brings everyone together.
I just had to step outside after the show for a few minutes to absorb all the magical vibes, and it gave me a sense of inner calm amongst the lively Covent Garden crowd. What a treat it is to be surrounded by London's vibrant nightlife!
Friday Night - Time to ReflectWell, London, youāve truly swept me off my feet once again. Your vibrant energy is contagious, and you never fail to leave me feeling inspired. Whether itās ballet, shopping, or theatre, you know how to make a Friday extra special.
As I leave this fabulous city for a short while, Iāll take the excitement and inspiration with me back to Derbyshire. It's been an incredible adventure. I've danced, I've shopped, and Iāve felt inspired by so much that itās given me more ideas to make my next week even more pink-tastic!
Now I canāt wait to share all of these fantastic finds with you lovely lot on Monday in the #PinkTutuShow! And, you can catch up on everything Pink Tutu on www.pink-tutu.com - See you next Friday for the next London adventure.
