Pink Tutu Blog London: Post #1554 - Friday Feels & Fabulous Finds in London!

Hey lovelies! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, back with another exciting installment of the Pink Tutu Blog, straight from the bustling streets of London!

It's a gorgeous Friday morning and I'm absolutely bursting with excitement, because not only is it a new day to explore this vibrant city, but I'm also celebrating the end of a brilliant week! You see, I managed to snag two ballet performances this week – one in Nottingham, featuring the talented young dancers from the local academy, and another in Derby with a phenomenal touring company from the Netherlands!

Yes, those amazing shows are exactly how I fund my fabulous adventures, all thanks to my passion for the graceful world of ballet. So, as you can see, I am all about dancing my way through life, and what better way to do that than to waltz through London in my signature pink tutu?

Speaking of waltzing, the train ride to London this morning was just delightful! A charming couple sat opposite me, admiring my tutu and giving me a playful twirl before I took my seat. You see, it's not just about the tutu – it's about the joy it spreads, and I'm all about spreading that contagious joy wherever I go!

Okay, enough about trains, let's talk London! After I arrived at King's Cross station, the scent of freshly brewed coffee from the little cafe at the station immediately hit me. I indulged in a cappuccino and a croissant while catching up on emails – I gotta keep my Pink Tutu Blog on top of things!

But alas, it was time to embark on my London adventure, and today's mission? Shopping, shopping, and more shopping! Now, I love exploring the iconic boutiques on Oxford Street, but I wanted to see something a bit different today. I remembered a quirky independent store, The Dusty Attic, on the King's Road in Chelsea that I'd read about in a fashion magazine, and I knew I had to check it out!

Let me tell you, the walk to Chelsea from King's Cross was an experience in itself. London feels alive, even on a Friday morning, with its bustling markets, quaint cafes, and historical architecture. I can't get enough of the blend of the old and the new in this city!

I popped into the Dusty Attic and, oh my goodness, what a find! Imagine vintage jewellery, one-of-a-kind handbags, and the most gorgeous handmade hats – a complete haven for the fashion-conscious, that’s for sure!

I found myself spending a good hour, happily lost in the treasure trove of unique finds, finally deciding on a vintage hat, with a vibrant pink feather – you guessed it – a perfect accessory to go with my beloved tutu! It truly gave my look a touch of that London flair.

From the chic streets of Chelsea, I headed back to the heart of the city for a spot of lunch. Today, I wanted a taste of tradition, and London wouldn't be London without a proper afternoon tea. Now, I'm not a regular tea drinker, but a proper London afternoon tea is a ritual I always relish!

I found myself nestled in a quaint little cafe just off Trafalgar Square, with a steaming cuppa, freshly made sandwiches, and, of course, delectable scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Bliss! The cafe had the most adorable pink teacups and saucers, which really made the experience all the more special.

Refreshed and full of sugar-fueled energy, I was ready to explore some of the city's cultural highlights. Firstly, I strolled over to the National Gallery for a dose of artistic inspiration. They were featuring a collection of Impressionist paintings, with masterpieces by Monet, Renoir, and Manet.

And you know what? The colour palettes of their artwork totally reminded me of my own wardrobe. So much pink! So much vibrant and delicate colour, and that's something that deeply resonated with me, a tutu-wearing, pink-loving, art-appreciating ballet enthusiast.

Feeling inspired, I headed to Covent Garden for my next stop – a ballet performance by the Royal Ballet! Now, a visit to London isn't complete without experiencing a show in this prestigious venue. Today's performance was Giselle, a romantic ballet classic that has been captivating audiences for generations.

You know how much I adore a captivating story and incredible choreography, and Giselle truly delivered on both fronts. The ballerinas were absolute stars, gliding across the stage with grace and precision, and the music filled the entire theatre, creating an atmosphere of pure magic.

And as the curtain drew to a close on the performance, I felt a sense of utter contentment. Today, my day in London has been nothing short of perfect! Shopping, a bit of history, an incredible ballet performance, and the sweet embrace of this amazing city - all this leaves me wanting to return for more.

I'll leave you with a little reminder that next Friday, we'll be exploring the historic Borough Market – a foodie's paradise, with fresh produce, cheeses, and some delicious street food. If you have any recommendations for the perfect spot to grab a bite, I'm all ears!

Until next Friday, my dear pink tutu-loving friends, keep dancing, keep smiling, and most importantly, keep shining bright!

Love, Emma xx
