Pink Tutu Milan: #1732 – Bonjour, from the City of Fashion! ??

Ciao bella! It’s Emma here, your pink-tutu-wearing ballerina from Derbyshire, and this week I’m whisking you away to the most stylish city in the world: Milan! ??

I know, I know, I’ve been promising to do this blog post for weeks. It was my biggest treat this summer – and my first time to Milan! It’s an absolutely incredible place, all chic architecture, beautiful squares, buzzing piazzas, stunning gardens, and some of the most amazing shopping I’ve ever experienced. Seriously, the fashion here is a whole other level!

But don’t worry, this isn’t just about clothes and shoes, even though there’s loads of that – trust me! Milan also has a heart-stopping ballet scene. I just had to come and soak it all up!

So, let’s begin…

Pink Tutu Milan, by Tram…

Right, well, you know how I love a bit of travelling on public transport, especially the little tram rides you find in so many European cities. They’re perfect for sightseeing, for being part of the heartbeat of a city, and getting you to places a car wouldn’t get to. I love hopping off the tram and suddenly finding myself in some secret alleyway, or hidden little square…

My trip began at Milano Centrale station – the main station. From there, the whole city is open to you. The trams were as pink as my tutu! There I was, at 7 am in the morning, perched right next to a businessman on his way to work. I bet he was wondering about my giant pink tutu, but it wasn’t a drop of rain in sight! Who knew you could even find a perfect pink tram?

Milano Centrale: a Piece of History

Right from the beginning, I was overwhelmed. The Milano Centrale train station was built way back in 1931. It has that timeless art deco, and that big, grand feeling I just adore! Inside the station there were sculptures and huge murals. It’s like a journey back in time, full of character!

Just stepping onto that tram, I felt the vibe of the city – you could feel Milan was about to offer me adventure… I was right!

The Ballet Scene: A Celebration of Movement and Passion

Of course, a ballet dancer can’t visit a place like Milan without seeing some world-class ballet. I knew I had to make it to Teatro alla Scala – you can’t even say "Milan" without mentioning La Scala. It’s been open since 1778. That’s some impressive history! Imagine being on stage, on the same floor as some of the greatest ballerinas and dancers of all time.

I booked my ticket well in advance, as La Scala always sells out fast. I chose to see "Swan Lake", and I knew as soon as I took my seat that I was in for something special. The theatre was amazing – the detail on the ceiling was like being inside a palace of gold. And then, the lights went down. The orchestra started playing, and that magical feeling started filling up the air… It was unbelievable!

Milan – My Shopping Paradise!

There's something about Italy and its unique mix of fashion. It's almost impossible to resist a good shopping spree! Milan is like a huge catwalk, everywhere you look! I'm sure you’ve heard of Milan’s iconic “Quadrilatero d’Oro”, right? This “Golden Rectangle” is practically a shopaholic's paradise.

You know me, my eyes always search out a little pink. Thankfully, the fashion capital didn’t disappoint! I spotted some stunning pink creations: think bold satin dresses in hot pink, chic tailored pantsuits in pale blush, and a dress, so beautifully ruffled it was just begging me to take it home!

Now, a trip to Italy wouldn’t be complete without visiting the beautiful leather goods. My quest for the perfect pink bag led me to some fantastic shops. I just had to add another handbag to my collection.

Taking a Stroll in Style

As I took a walk through Milan’s parks and streets, I felt completely at home. The people-watching, the beautiful views, the sounds… everything about Milan feels lively, energetic, yet still graceful. I’ve been inspired by how everyone, from the ladies shopping to the artists painting in the squares, adds their own sense of style and passion.

My heart belonged to “The Gallery”, where I admired some beautiful modern art. And the shopping just never seemed to stop!

Milan’s a place that gets right under your skin!

Fashion for Everyone!

One of my favorite parts of Milan was noticing how it celebrates every style, every form of expression, every unique sense of self. Whether it's street-style, or on the grand stages of high fashion, I just love how people showcase themselves. I think the whole idea of dressing up for any occasion makes Milan a truly special place!

This is definitely a city for dancing, for dreaming, and for letting your own individuality shine through. And that, my dears, is why I feel it's the perfect spot for some of you to start wearing a pink tutu, right? Go on, try it, even for one day – I promise, Milan's energy will support you! I hope I can help you step out in style and be confident, like they are!

Milan, You've Stolen My Heart!

This whole journey has truly been one to remember, packed with excitement, discoveries, and an experience that left a lasting impression.

For me, this was more than a journey. It was a new chapter in my pink tutu adventures. Milan’s fashion has energized my creative soul. I'm back to Derbyshire with my heart overflowing with inspiration! I just know there’s some magic waiting in every corner. Now that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, who knows where my tutu might take me next…

And remember, you’re never too young, never too old to be brave, and explore something new.

Keep sparkling, keep dancing, and remember to spread the pink-tutu love. And until next week, my lovelies!

Ciao from Milan!

? Emma ?
