This week has been an absolute whirlwind, filled with breathtaking ballet performances, incredible fashion finds, and, of course, my trusty pink tutu gracing every step of the way.
Milan, with its grand architecture, vibrant energy, and impeccable sense of style, has always been a city I longed to visit. And this week, my dreams finally came true!
A Glimpse Into Ballet Heaven
My first stop, as always, was the Teatro alla Scala, Milan's legendary opera house. I can't even describe the thrill of standing in that magnificent building, knowing that history has played out on those very steps, knowing that countless legends have graced its stage.
This week's programme, however, wasn't opera - it was ballet, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of spectacular! The story, a contemporary piece with intricate choreography, spoke of love, loss, and finding your way through the storms of life. The dancers, every one of them, were absolutely brilliant, conveying raw emotion with every gesture. And, of course, I couldn't resist wearing my favourite pink tutu, a statement that stood out amidst the traditional attire of the theatre patrons. It added a touch of whimsical whimsy to the already magical atmosphere!
Shopping Therapy & Fashion Dreams
No trip to Milan is complete without indulging in a spot of shopping therapy. This city is a true paradise for fashion lovers, and I certainly wasn't about to miss out on the exquisite array of boutiques and ateliers that line the cobbled streets. From vintage treasures at Porta Ticinese to high-end designer stores in the Quadrilatero della Moda, I was in seventh heaven!
While my tutu is my most prized possession, I couldn't resist picking up a couple of new pieces that I'll definitely be showcasing in my upcoming performance calendar. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a fabulous, blush-coloured lace dress in a quaint shop tucked away in a hidden alley. It's absolutely perfect for a gala performance, don't you think? And, of course, I had to pick up a stunning silk scarf, printed with a breathtaking floral pattern – the perfect touch of Italian flair.
Finding Magic in Every Corner
Of course, I wouldn't be a true pink tutu devotee if I wasn't taking in every inch of this wonderful city. My journey took me from the quiet serenity of the Brera district, a haven of artistic beauty, to the bustling crowds of the Duomo square, a marvel of architecture. I even hopped on the tram, enjoying the colourful streetscape as it whizzed by. Milan has a way of drawing you into its rhythm, making you feel like you're part of something truly magical.
As I sat in a cosy café, savouring a perfectly brewed espresso and a delectable panettone, I reflected on all that Milan has gifted me. This city isn't just about fashion or the arts; it's about the experience. It's about letting yourself be captivated by the unexpected beauty in every corner.

What's On In Milan: 2028-10-18Well, I'm not sure exactly what was on the agenda for October 18th, 2028, but let's just imagine that I took full advantage of this fantastic city! I could be enjoying an evening of enchanting jazz at the Blue Note, listening to soulful tunes that whisk you away. Or, perhaps, I was strolling through the magical city streets, indulging in the intoxicating smells and tastes of Milanese cuisine. Maybe I was caught up in the artistry of the Palazzo Reale, letting the paintings whisk me away to another world. Whatever I was doing, you can be sure that it was all topped off with my pink tutu!
