Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Post Number 1607 - 23rd March 2026 - New York, New York, I’m coming for you! 🩰

Hello darlings, and welcome back to another Monday adventure here on Pink Tutu Blog! I know you’re all wondering what I’m up to in the Big Apple, and let me tell you, it’s been a whirlwind! You know, the excitement of travelling can really throw you off, so let’s just get straight into it, shall we?

Now, I can't help but feel a little nostalgic today, thinking back to the tiny village of Buxton, Derbyshire where it all began. Can you believe I was a proper Derbyshire lass, dreaming of twinkling stage lights and spinning in a pink tutu, before I ventured off to the Big City? And here I am, almost five years later, fulfilling every one of those dreams! It feels incredible!

This week has been a real blur of bright lights and even brighter fashion. I think I've stepped foot in every single shoe store on Fifth Avenue - imagine my credit card! Speaking of shoes, let me tell you, the fabulous folks in New York City sure do know their way around a stylish heel. And oh my, I've picked up some truly delightful outfits for you all. I mean, what's a trip to New York City without a wardrobe update? I just can’t help it, those racks practically scream my name!

I've been absolutely spoiled with all things dance. Last night, I saw the most incredible production of Swan Lake at the Lincoln Center - breathtaking! The dancers, they were so graceful and elegant, it left me speechless! Honestly, I haven't been this inspired since I saw the Royal Ballet perform here a few weeks back. And what better way to end a day of watching world-class dancers than by trying my own twirls and pirouettes? This city never lets me down!

And if you know anything about my little pink tutu-wearing self, you'll know that my time here in the city has also included some rather exciting adventures with the Subway. I do adore its vibrant atmosphere and fast-paced energy - it really reminds me of the London Underground, but just on a slightly bigger, grander scale! Honestly, I've lost count of how many times I've hopped on a train this week, taking me from my ballet class in midtown Manhattan to catching up with some fashionable friends in Brooklyn.

I can't forget to tell you about the most magical moment of the week! I was dancing around in a little vintage shop on the Upper West Side - oh, how I adore those quirky, treasure-filled corners of New York City - when this lady in a vintage gown came up to me. We chatted for ages, sharing our passion for the joy of dressing up! We discussed the fashion trends of yesteryear - oh, what a beautiful period of fashion history - and she even complimented my pink tutu. She called it 'adorable and inspiring'! And let me tell you, I nearly jumped out of my sparkly shoes with joy. You see, my goal in life, my mission if you will, is to get everyone to embrace their inner pink tutu-wearing ballerina, no matter their age. The idea that it could possibly be happening - well, it filled me with a sense of sheer excitement.

So what's next, you ask? This weekend, I'm treating myself to a relaxing Saturday night at the opera, the perfect way to indulge in a bit of artistic splendour. You know me, I love the drama, the powerful voices, the costumes!

Don't forget to pop over to Pink Tutu Blog next week to hear all about my operatic experience!

Until then, darlings, keep those pink tutus twirling and remember, never underestimate the power of a little sparkle in your life. And oh, let me know, do you have any particular shows or experiences you want me to try whilst I'm in New York?

See you next week!

Love, Emma 🩰💖 www.pink-tutu.com
