Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post 1342 – A Whirlwind of Pink in the City of Lights!

Bonjour mes chéries!

This week, my little heart flutters with excitement as I share my adventures in the magical city of Paris, a place that feels like a dream come true for a tutu-loving ballerina like myself! This weekend was simply divine, overflowing with Parisian chic, enchanting ballet, and – of course! – the most delicious macarons you can imagine. I journeyed from the green rolling hills of Derbyshire, my heart overflowing with anticipation. The journey aboard the Eurostar was like stepping into a dream itself, the smooth, efficient glide between nations and the excitement bubbling over as we approached the French capital.

It was on this very Saturday, the 13th of September, 2025, that I finally touched down in Paris. The first breath of fresh Parisian air – that perfect mix of sweet bakery smells and the intoxicating scent of ancient stone – had me swooning instantly. I stepped out onto the Gare du Nord, the sunshine dappling the cobblestones and making my new pink tutu – yes, it’s a whole new one for this trip, naturally! – swirl around me like a ballet dancer under the spotlights.

My mission was clear: to immerse myself in everything Parisian, from the chicest boutiques to the most celebrated theatres, all with the aim of finding new inspiration to share with you lovely lot on the Pink Tutu website. Oh, and maybe find the perfect little Parisian beret, or a new, gorgeous pair of ballet pumps – a girl's gotta have a good pair of pumps, am I right?!

Speaking of pumps, my first stop was for something decidedly un-tutu, though equally delightful: the ballet flats that have been making my heart sing ever since I saw them on Instagram – a collaboration between a famous French designer and a local boutique with an enchanting name like 'Fleur de Lys.' They were absolutely stunning - the softest lilac suede you can imagine, and perfectly matched my pastel pink tweed dress that was my chosen outfit for this fabulous Parisian weekend.

Shopping in a whirlwind of tulle and lace:

You know I couldn't go to Paris without a little retail therapy. My darling friends, let me tell you, I was in shopping heaven! The cobblestone streets were lined with shops bursting with lace, velvet, and delicate silk – truly the perfect palette for my pink tutu to stand out against! I managed to snag a delicate chiffon scarf with the tiniest hints of rose-gold glitter, which I already know will look absolutely magical swirling around me at the theatre. And how about a beautiful vintage hat with a delicate floral trim? It simply wouldn’t do to arrive at the Opera Garnier without the right Parisian headwear!

A night at the Opera Garnier – breathtaking beauty and ethereal grace:

There was no way I could be in Paris and miss out on seeing a ballet at the breathtaking Opera Garnier! The ornate architecture, the crystal chandeliers twinkling like a thousand stars, the buzz of anticipation – I could have stayed in the lobby forever! The ballet itself was exquisite – a classic version of "Swan Lake" – and the ballerina was a dream, flitting across the stage with effortless grace and grace, her tutu a cloud of white feathers in the spotlight. I swear, I even shed a tear of pure joy at the finale. And how about this - my tutu actually matched the dancers! I know, a little serendipitous, right?

Exploring the Latin Quarter – finding that Parisian "je ne sais quoi":

The following morning, I explored the cobbled streets of the Latin Quarter – what a joy to walk, with every building offering an entirely different historical charm! A delicious café nestled beside a shop with handcrafted jewellery; a historic bookstore overflowing with ancient maps and forgotten novels; even the flower stalls, filled with vibrant roses, hydrangeas and tulips in every shade imaginable! And how could I forget to mention the creperie around the corner with its divine smell of fresh batter and lashings of rich caramel sauce - a pure symphony for a tutu-wearing foodie like me! My senses were utterly indulged by the Parisian air - the combination of vintage charm and modern creativity just resonated with me and sparked new creative inspiration. I felt I could write, dance, design, anything and everything right there in that moment!

My Parisian Picnic: An Enchanting Lunch in the Jardin des Tuileries:

The Jardin des Tuileries was, well, exactly what you expect from the name: truly beautiful gardens to just soak in and feel calm. I spent an afternoon wandering through, taking in the serenity and soaking up the fresh Parisian air - oh the French air really does make a difference! I then settled in near the famous Tuileries fountain to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch I’d purchased from a local market nearby - the cheese, bread and, yes, macarons of course! – it really did feel like I had walked straight out of a vintage movie scene. My perfect picnic – a symphony of Parisian delights and delicate pink-tinted bliss.

A Final Fond Farewell (and a little pink-tutu-inspiration!):

With a heart full of French magic, I boarded the Eurostar to return to England, already starting to plan my next Parisian adventure! Oh, and I managed to snag the perfect beret at a vintage market before heading home! It was soft, deep red felt with a touch of pink velvet trim, just as lovely as I had pictured it. It's a perfect way to add a little French je ne sais quoi to my look back in the UK.

Before I say au revoir, I've got some delightful news for you all: next week I will be sharing a brand new, special, DIY Tutu tutorial that's perfect for incorporating all things Parisian chic!
