Bonjour mes amies! Emma here, your pink tutu-clad travel companion, writing to you live from the City of Lights! This weekend, I'm embracing Parisian charm and letting my love for the pink tutu take over. Today's blog is all about Paris - what else? I just know youāre dying to hear about the magical adventure that unfolds every time I step into this fabulous city.
And believe me, the magic kicked in the second I boarded the Eurostar in London. There's nothing like gliding through the Channel Tunnel, feeling like I'm in a fairytale as I speed towards Paris. Even the journey is an experience ā a symphony of elegant, high-speed motion and an excuse to dress up, naturally.
This time, my tutu choice was a delightful bubblegum pink number, perfectly complemented by a black lace top and chic ankle boots. It's a bit of an unconventional look for a Parisian journey, but that's the thing about pink tutus, isnāt it? They break the mould, they bring the fun, they just say 'Look at me!'.
Paris in Pink šStepping out of Gare du Nord was pure delight. That crisp, fresh air, the Parisian energy, the iconic Parisian rooftops... it never gets old. And speaking of Parisian energy, there was a street performer just outside the station. She was a young girl in a beautiful pink tutu, spinning like a top and creating the most joyful, vibrant ballet choreography! It made me smile ear to ear. Whatās a pink tutu blogger to do when presented with such an amazing, twirling spectacle, but join in! We shared a moment, two ballerinas in pink tutus dancing together on a Paris street ā the ultimate picture of Parisian charm.
Today's Paris Itinerary āØHere's how my Parisian escapade is going to unfold today:
Morning:
A Little Parisian Glamour: This morning started with a trip to Le Bon MarchĆ© Rive Gauche. It's not just a department store, itās an experience. I'm hunting for unique vintage finds and Parisian chic designs. Canāt forget my essential āpink-tutu-and-teaā moment at their cafe!
Cafe De Flore, Mon Amour: Now thatās how to live! Iāve popped by Cafe De Flore - it's a must-do on any trip to Paris. It's got such history, a real sense of artistic charm. Plus, I just had the most incredible slice of cake and the strongest coffee ā the Parisian way!
Afternoon:
- Shopping for a Tutu Dress: This afternoon, itās time for shopping at the French boutique on Rue de Rennes Iāve got my eye on a stunning pink dress - it's absolutely perfect for a chic Parisian evening out! It's got this delicate lace design, a touch of glitter, and the softest blush-pink colour... itās definitely a āpink-tutu-approvedā purchase! You can guarantee, Iāll be showcasing my newest addition to the pink tutu wardrobe very soon.
Evening:
- Ballet at the OpĆ©ra Garnier: This evening, I'm excited for the OpĆ©ra Garnier! There's something special about a ballet show, especially in such a historic, magical place. We are about to witness some graceful, inspiring dance, and you can bet, Iām going to take some pink tutu-inspired outfits ideas away for the upcoming shows I have back in England. I always like to capture the trends. And of course, I will share everything on Pink-Tutu.com.
It wouldnāt be a proper Pink-Tutu blog without sharing a few top travel tips with you all. Now, when it comes to navigating Paris, thereās no better way to see the sights than by riding the iconic Parisian Metro. But you want to do it like a local! Here are some tips that Iāve picked up over the years, and which work for meā¦
Get a āNavigo Pass" : The Parisian Metro can be quite expensive, so buy yourself a "Navigo Passā from the machines in any station and take it around town! You won't have to fumble around with coins. It's so much more efficient. It is a great way to be organized on the go! It helps make those multiple trips more accessible and allows me to travel the city without feeling weighed down by lots of coins in my pocket. The most important tip - wear a pink tutu ā a Pink Tutu blogger's Paris essential! I don't just do pink tutus, I also make sure they're super practical!
Paris for FashionistasParis is the ultimate fashion haven, my lovelies, so naturally, a lot of the blog posts are dedicated to this aspect of Parisian life! If youāre planning a trip here soon and want to explore this side of the city, you're in for a real treat. Just be prepared to shop until you drop!
Of course, fashion and dance go hand in hand. The iconic elegance of Parisian fashion aligns with the effortless grace and beauty of ballet. Itās something I live and breathe every day. My aim is to create an elegant pink tutu-infused look that embodies both fashion and dance in all of my blog posts, while inspiring you all along the way!
My Paris Inspiration
I am inspired by the ballet greats! Iām such a big fan of legendary ballerinas like Margot Fonteyn, the āPrima Ballerina Assolutaā, who defined the role of ballerina on stage and off! Her performance had style and elegance but also great beauty and artistry - the things that make me want to twirl in a pink tutu on every street! Itās important to me that every ballet class I take, and every ballet show I watch, makes me feel like āPrima Ballerina Assolutaā ! You know, feeling fabulous in that gorgeous tutu.
*The Pink Tutu Dance Lifestyle *
Speaking of the dance lifestyle, you girls know, life is all about the tutus, ballet, and living with a touch of the dramatic. There is just so much passion, creativity, and excitement in my favourite style. You canāt live with this pink tutu and ballet obsession and not embrace everything about dance culture! Thatās what inspires me every day ā I canāt think of a better way to be.
Why You Should Embrace the Pink Tutu!I often think about what makes me want to wear a pink tutu everywhere! My life in a pink tutu started after I saw a fantastic, inspiring ballet show at The Royal Opera House in London. After a really wonderful production, I was on my way to my regular ballet class, and a thought popped into my head - Why donāt I bring the theatre, the energy, and the performance off the stage, and onto the streets of Derby!
So I went home and thought ā I have this incredible, pretty, light and fluffy pink tutu! Letās just take it out to Derbyshire! And as I twirled down the cobbled streets, with people staring and looking very confused! The thought, that I'm changing the world one tutu at a time, popped into my head. Thatās what I'm here to do - to inspire all of you, to step outside of your comfort zone, to embrace the pink tutu, to express yourselves, and to spread the joy of dance.
From Ballet To Broadway to the Street: Why I love Performance!
As a girl from Derbyshire, I never imagined I would find my passion in performance, especially ballet. It wasn't until I was in my teens that I started my ballet training and fell in love with it. Thereās such an intense expression of art through dance! Ballet takes discipline, creativity, strength, and passion! I always felt at my best when Iām onstage performing.
Then, the acting bug bit me, and I started my first dramatic acting role when I was twenty ā which was in a local production of āMy Fair Ladyā! There's nothing like the adrenalin rush before a show and knowing the lights are going up! This is all that makes my passion grow even bigger every day.
From Ballet to Broadway!
The Pink-Tutu lifestyle is all about taking performance and theatre to the next level. I can't get enough! When I get the chance to go to London, to see one of those fantastic Broadway musical shows on the West End stage! I go with such excitement! Seeing my favorite artists on the London Stage makes me realize how hard they all work to get there, the passion and dedication involved is truly impressive! This is an inspiration to all my fellow performance enthusiasts!
My Paris Dream
The Paris show at the OpĆ©ra Garnier is really important to me as part of my blog journey, because this city is known for so much theatre! This incredible, stunningly beautiful venue has so much rich history of performance art, including many a balletic show. Iām sure every ballerina wants to experience it, and Iām lucky to have it all booked for this Pink-Tutu Paris blog post! Thereās so much beauty and excitement to take in! This experience is one for the memory books. And maybe even an inspiring fashion moment - there is something about seeing those classical Parisian venues.
