Hello darlings! Emma here, back from the most magical trip to Prague! It feels like ages ago now, and as you know, I can never bear to wait more than a week to share my adventures with you, so here it is - my pink-tinted travelogue, Post 1563, hot off the press!
Let’s just say this city really captured my heart. Picture cobblestone streets that are straight out of a fairytale, spires reaching for the sky, and a vibrant cultural scene that makes you want to twirl. Oh, and did I mention the gorgeous architecture? I could practically hear the waltzes echoing through the grand plazas. Truly, Prague felt like the perfect setting for a ballet obsessed girl like me!
Riding the Rails in Style
This time around, I decided to do something a little different. Instead of flying, I hopped on the Eurostar for a train journey right out of a vintage movie. Now, let me tell you, travelling in a pink tutu is definitely a conversation starter. Fellow passengers couldn’t help but smile, and I felt a delightful flutter of joy in my chest with every friendly glance. After all, a bit of pink sparkle makes even the longest journeys a bit more fun, doesn’t it?
Prague - My Pink Playground
Now, where to even begin? The whole city is like a pink paradise. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a little boutique in the Old Town Square. I swear, the owner must have known about my love for pink tutus! She had an entire section devoted to beautiful vintage styles, and I ended up taking home the most stunning dusty rose confection. Honestly, it felt like a dance itself to put on.
Speaking of dance, let’s talk ballet! Oh, darling, Prague was truly heaven for my ballet-loving heart. I managed to see two incredible performances in the most beautiful theatres. The first was at the charming and intimate Estates Theatre, which housed a truly breathtaking production of "Swan Lake" - with exquisite costumes and a graceful, timeless performance. The second show took me to the magnificent National Theatre, where I got to experience a thrilling production of "Don Quixote". The energy was palpable, the costumes were flamboyant, and the dancers were sensational. Every spin and leap was like magic.
Beyond the Stage - The Prague Ballet Charm
You know me - I love to experience dance in all its forms. And Prague certainly doesn't disappoint. From the street performers bringing classical ballet to the public squares to the local ballet school where children danced with infectious enthusiasm, ballet was truly alive in every corner of this captivating city. Even in the traditional Czech dancing, with its intricate steps and graceful twirls, there was a definite connection to the world of ballet.
A Tutu's Journey
But it wasn’t all about the performances, of course. Every moment was an opportunity to spread the pink tutu joy. Whether I was strolling through the iconic Charles Bridge with its picturesque views or browsing through the charming markets in the Jewish Quarter, my tutu became a part of the city’s charm. I was surprised by the sheer number of people who stopped me for a photo - the children, especially, were so enchanted. It reminded me why I wear my pink tutu with pride - it’s a reminder to embrace joy and spread a little bit of sparkle wherever we go.
A Fashionista's Dream
The shops in Prague were like a playground for a pink-loving ballerina! Vintage clothes are an absolute treasure here. I fell head over heels for a stunning antique lace dress, its pastel tones complementing my tutu perfectly. The vibrant, colourful stalls brimming with trinkets and jewellery were irresistible too. I even found a unique silver necklace featuring a tiny ballerina pendant - just a little something for my personal collection.
Dining Like a Princess
No trip to Prague would be complete without indulging in the local cuisine. I sampled so many traditional delights, from savoury dumplings to delicious goulash, and even tried some delightful Bohemian sweets (and of course, enjoyed my fair share of Bohemian sparkling wine). All of these indulgences perfectly complemented the magic of the city, leaving me feeling happy, relaxed and content.
Travel Tips from a Pink Tutu Traveller
A few travel tips, especially for my tutu-wearing friends! First of all, pack light and in a manageable carry-on bag for easy manoeuvring through cobblestone streets and on the train. Second, bring comfortable walking shoes! While Prague is incredibly walkable, your feet will be thankful for a break. And lastly, remember the power of a good smile! Everyone you meet, especially the locals, will respond with warmth and friendliness, making your entire experience even more special.
A Pink Farewell
Prague truly left an indelible mark on my heart. The city's beauty, charm, and rich culture touched me deeply. It's a place that makes you feel like you're stepping into a dream, a perfect place to twirl with the spirit of Bohemian magic in your heart. Oh, and let's not forget about all the smiles, and all those moments where I felt that joy of spreading pink tutu love!
Remember darlings, it's never too late to embrace your inner ballerina. Let the spirit of dancing, joy, and sparkle fill your every moment.
See you next week with another adventure - Until then, keep twirling!
Love,
Emma
