Hello lovelies! Emma here, back from a whirlwind trip to Prague and ready to share all the pink and fabulous details! This week, we're taking a waltz through the enchanting streets of this beautiful Czech city, where I discovered a vibrant mix of historical charm, ballet magic, and – you guessed it – the perfect pink tutu to add to my collection!
This past Wednesday (remember, Pink Tutu Prague goes live every Wednesday!), I boarded a train straight from Derbyshire, my heart filled with excitement. I've always been fascinated by Prague, a city brimming with history and stories whispered in its ancient stones. The journey, though long, was delightful – sipping tea from my favourite porcelain travel mug, reading about the Czech Republic's rich ballet heritage, and of course, indulging in a spot of "tututastic" outfit planning!
Speaking of tutus, I simply had to visit the Národní Divadlo, Prague's grand national theatre. The sheer magnificence of this architectural gem left me speechless. Stepping inside felt like entering a fairytale! Its grand staircase, intricate detailing, and shimmering chandelier transported me back in time, picturing dancers twirling across its stage centuries ago. Imagine my delight when I discovered a magnificent pink tutu adorning one of the statues in the foyer! Of course, I had to pose beside it for a photo op, my own blush-hued tutu perfectly complementing the setting.
The very next day, my Prague adventure began in earnest. As I wandered the cobbled streets, marveling at the architectural wonders that adorned every corner, I found myself drawn to Staroměstské náměstí, the iconic Old Town Square. This charming space, filled with vibrant street performances and the striking Astronomical Clock, was a kaleidoscope of colour and sound.
One captivating performance particularly caught my eye: a group of street dancers, twirling and leaping to a beautiful Czech folk song. They were truly a vision! Their movement and costumes were simply captivating. I'm not ashamed to admit, dear readers, I even let loose with a little impromptu pirouette or two, much to the delight of the surrounding onlookers. Isn't it wonderful how dance has the power to transcend languages and cultures?
But what was happening on 2025-05-28? You ask, well, dear readers, let me tell you. I managed to secure tickets to a captivating performance at the Národní Divadlo. It was an evening I won't soon forget! The show, a breathtaking ballet set to Tchaikovsky's iconic Swan Lake, unfolded on stage like a dream. Every move, every gesture, every flutter of a dancer's pink tutu (yes, there were pink tutus!) filled the theatre with magic and wonder.
You see, Prague truly is a ballerina's dream city! Every corner, every square, even the charming little tea houses, whispers of dance, music, and a love for art. And what would Prague be without its delectable cuisine? After all, ballet takes energy! I found myself completely enchanted by the authentic Czech flavours, especially the local sweet treats like Trdelník and Medovník. Let me tell you, there’s no better way to end a day of ballet exploration than with a plate of decadent sweets, washed down with a cup of steaming, aromatic coffee!
For my fashionistas, let’s talk tutus! Prague has an eclectic fashion scene, with boutiques bursting with treasures that just beg to be admired. My visit wasn't complete without a visit to the fabulous Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square) which bustles with shops offering everything from classic elegance to quirky Bohemia-inspired styles. I, of course, went searching for the perfect tutu addition to my collection – and guess what? I found a stunning lavender pink tutu, adorned with delicate lace, waiting patiently just for me! I even got a cute little ballet bag in a complementary shade of pink!
And what's a trip to Prague without a visit to the magnificent Prague Castle? Standing tall against a breathtaking backdrop of the Vltava River, the castle complex feels like stepping into a storybook! I spent a whole afternoon exploring the charming cobblestone alleyways, marveling at the grandeur of St. Vitus Cathedral and admiring the breathtaking views of the city from its terraces. My inner fairytale princess was in absolute bliss!
My time in Prague was truly a ballet of beauty, grace, and colour. Each experience, every encounter, from the delicious meals to the magical ballet performance, filled me with such joy.
So, my darling readers, are you ready to waltz your way to Prague? This charming city, with its captivating architecture, lively arts scene, and delightful delicacies, will surely steal your heart – just like it stole mine! Remember, wear a pink tutu and enjoy every beautiful moment!
Until next Wednesday, happy dancing!
XOXO
Emma
