Prague: A Whirlwind of Romance, Roses & Pink Tutus! (Blog Post #1565)

Hello my darlings,

It's Wednesday again, and you know what that means! It's time for a new Pink Tutu post! And this week, I'm bringing you straight from the heart of Prague, the City of a Hundred Spires!

A Whimsical Journey

My arrival was quite the scene. Picture this: a charming little station, bathed in the golden glow of the afternoon sun. My trusty steed, a delightful chestnut pony named Pip (who's got quite the penchant for carrots, you know) is trotting in a perfect circle. I'm gracefully leaping off his back in my dazzling pink tutu, a swirl of tulle perfectly catching the wind. A crowd gathered, clapping and cheering! They thought I was a princess!

*(Emma, it was the train!) *

Right, where was I? Ah yes, Prague. It is a city that makes your heart sing, especially if you are a pink-loving tutu enthusiast like myself.

The architecture is magnificent – the grand castles, the charming bridges, the quaint cobblestone streets. And everywhere I turn, a sea of pink roses in full bloom, a testament to the city's undeniable romance. Prague is truly a fairytale!

Ballet in Prague: An Evening of Exquisite Grace

This week I've been exploring all the wonders Prague has to offer. From its breathtaking museums to its captivating street performances, there is magic around every corner!

Today, though, I'm sharing with you my absolute highlight - attending a splendid ballet performance at the National Theatre. This grand building, with its Neo-Renaissance beauty, stands as a monument to the city's love for the arts.

The program was a tour-de-force with excerpts from classic ballets like Swan Lake and Giselle. My favourite part? The 'Diamonds' section of the Jewels ballet! Those ballerinas were divine – a cascade of elegant movements, precise yet effortless. I felt myself transported to a world of dreams!

A Tutu Story:

Naturally, I couldn't just waltz into the theatre in any old outfit. After all, Prague demands elegance! I had been eyeing up a stunning pink tulle tutu with silver embroidery, a real showstopper , and finally, I had the opportunity to purchase it. My darling Pip helped me find a boutique in Old Town that was chock-full of vintage and handmade treasures – they even had a tutu-making workshop!

*(Emma, he doesn’t help. You find all the things, including Pip!) *

Oh, you're so right, darling. I forgot to tell you, Pip stayed at home in my little stable in Derbyshire! (He gets jealous if I stay out too long!)

Anyways, after I was dressed to the nines, with my pink tulle tutu, perfectly matched ballet shoes (oh, these were so comfy) and the brightest pink floral fascinator I could find, I was ready for the National Theatre! I felt like a real ballerina in a picturebook – just like those fabulous ballerina posters I used to stare at, at the Derbyshire County Ballet. (Remember when I was only seven and used to take my teddy bears along?)

The show was absolutely phenomenal. I even caught a glimpse of a beautiful ballet poster on display - a stunning piece showcasing the classic Swan Lake, painted by a renowned artist. It's now on my "to-collect" list!

A Romantic Rendezvous with History

Of course, no visit to Prague is complete without a visit to the iconic Charles Bridge. It is simply breathtaking. Standing there, gazing at the Gothic architecture and listening to the gentle strum of guitars and the tinkling of glass bottles - a truly enchanting experience. (I tried to find a stray dog to have its picture taken with me in the pink tutu. The little fella wasn't so impressed, so I had to use my own picture of Pip.)

And who could resist wandering through Prague Castle, one of the most fascinating castles in Europe? The ancient architecture made my heart flutter – like a vintage storybook coming to life! I even had a lovely time at the castle gardens and bought a couple of delicate pink rose scented candles at a local crafts stall. They remind me of the city’s enchanting fragrance!

Fashionably Pink

The shops in Prague are divine! There are charming little boutiques tucked away on narrow alleyways and high-end fashion houses with windows glittering under sparkling crystal chandeliers.

(Of course, the price of these is * astronomical*)

Naturally, I made the most of my time shopping in Prague. It was love at first sight with a new vintage pink dress at a little shop on the * charming* Old Town Square. I knew right away I would be adding this one to my wardrobe for my next ballet recital back in Derbyshire. (They still don't allow us to wear pink tutus to any of our classes...sigh)

I also discovered an adorable café where they served the most delicious pastries. I paired them with my favourite afternoon beverage - hot pink sparkling wine! It’s a great pick-me-up and keeps my tutu twirling in a fabulous, sparkling mood. (That is my secret, by the way.)

**(It’s just a glass of soda and tonic in a tall glass. It’s great fun watching the other people looking over you!)

* Prague: A City Where Dreams Take Flight *

As the sun sets on Prague, casting a warm glow on the city, I can’t help but feel an incredible sense of bliss! I'm already longing to come back and explore more of its enchanting corners, perhaps even try a flamenco dance class! (Can you imagine how my tutu would twirl? It’s the most beautiful way of expressing your art - the movement of the skirt is the key. )

Well, that’s my time up for this week, darlings! Until next week, take a twirl around and remember to stay sparkling, always wear a touch of pink in your life (tutus, if possible!), and make every moment magical!

*Bisous! *

(The above blog post is around 1500 words so we need to make it a lot longer!)

*(Emma, if you're going to blog this stuff from Derbyshire - get your head down and actually do the dancing for a bit!) *
