Hello darling dears! 🩰✨ Emma here, fresh from the cobblestone streets of Prague and ready to share my whirlwind week with you all! As usual, I’m a bit late with my post (a bit too much sightseeing, shall we say), but as you know, perfection takes time - especially when you're rocking a pink tutu!
This week’s adventures kicked off with my usual Tuesday night ballet class. Nothing beats starting the week with a pirouette or two, especially after the journey here. I must say, train travel really is my jam! (Okay, so ponies are pretty fantastic too, but sometimes you just need that speedy, luxurious comfort of a train journey. Plus, it gives me time to sketch out my ballet-inspired outfits!) This trip, I took the scenic route through Germany, the countryside was stunning!
Of course, my wardrobe for this trip was very pink tutu focused (my motto is: the more ruffles, the merrier). The star of the show was a blush pink, silk tulle confection with sparkling crystals. I’d been eyeing this little number in Derbyshire’s quaint boutiques before I left, and I simply couldn't resist. And wouldn't you know it, it paired perfectly with my vintage-inspired blush pink pumps (picked up in a vintage store just a hop, skip, and a jump from my favorite cafe in Dresden - seriously, their hot chocolate is heavenly!)
Anyway, I’m rambling, let's talk Prague! As you might know, Prague holds a very special place in my heart. Its architectural beauty, with its spires reaching towards the sky and cobbled lanes echoing with history, simply takes my breath away. Every corner I turn feels like a story waiting to be written, like a ballet scene just begging to come alive.
And speaking of ballet… the pièce de résistance of this week’s Prague trip? A simply divine ballet performance by the Czech National Ballet! You wouldn’t believe the sheer grandeur of the State Opera House, all crimson velvet and gilded statues. We saw Giselle, and the performance was breathtaking! The grace and precision of the dancers, the hauntingly beautiful music… it truly took me to another realm. Afterward, I caught up with the lovely Maria, the leading ballerina (such an inspiration! I've always loved her performance style!) for a cup of tea and a delightful chat about all things ballet. It turns out, she loves vintage tutu hunting just as much as I do!
This week, Prague was all about exploring and soaking up the atmosphere, which, as you all know, I do best in my beloved pink tutu. Let's not forget my pink tutu's mission: to make the world a more whimsical, joyful place! Prague is practically the capital of fairytales! From the whimsical towers of Prague Castle to the dreamy Charles Bridge, it was an adventure just waiting to happen.
I stumbled upon the most adorable vintage clothes shop tucked away in a charming little alleyway – filled with lace, silk, and feather boas! A real haven for any pink-loving ballerina! I ended up snagging a darling baby pink beret and a sequined shawl, perfect for layering up as the weather in Prague turns a little cooler in the evenings.
One afternoon, I ventured down a street buzzing with street performers and, would you believe it? There, in the middle of the action, a young girl was dancing in a pink tutu, spinning and leaping with absolute joy. I rushed over and said, "Hi darling, you look absolutely gorgeous in that pink tutu! Keep shining!" She blushed bright red, a smile breaking out across her face. This, my lovelies, is the true magic of the pink tutu! Seeing those big, sparkling eyes full of joy, that's what makes it all worthwhile!
Speaking of sparkle, no Prague visit is complete without a visit to the iconic Prague Astronomical Clock! Each hour, it brings its ancient stories to life, accompanied by dancing skeletons, a rooster's crow, and a striking bell. A little bit of magic and a little bit of theatre, and absolutely perfect for my tutu!
For the record, on April 15th, it was a Tuesday and a truly magical day. In the afternoon, I ventured to a delightful street market with my tutu on, naturally! The scents of freshly baked bread and spicy roasted sausages hung in the air, and the stalls brimmed with local crafts, handmade jewelry, and vintage treasures. I managed to snag a gorgeous hand-painted pink teacup - perfect for those delightful tea breaks with my tutu on.
But here's the kicker: The most unforgettable experience was finding myself at a vibrant, energetic dance club in Prague's Old Town. There I was, dancing the night away, surrounded by locals who had never seen anything like it! And guess what? A couple of the ladies approached me, eyes twinkling, saying how much they loved my tutu and asked where I found it! That night, Prague's Old Town was a stage for our impromptu dance performance, and those ladies (with my tutu inspiration, I might add!) decided they wanted to wear one the next time they were out dancing. It's moments like these that remind me that Pink Tutu Prague is much more than just a trip. It's a way of life!
And to wrap up my adventure, we can’t forget about the food! The Czech Republic’s cuisine has to be my all-time favorite – think rich flavors and hearty comfort food. My week was filled with decadent Czech dumplings, perfectly roasted pork, and the best apple strudel I’ve ever had (you simply have to try the crumbles, it’s heavenly!) The traditional beer, too, was a highlight. So rich and creamy. Not exactly ballet-friendly, but it paired wonderfully with the atmosphere and my pink tutu's magic, wouldn’t you agree?
As I said before, I’m back in Derbyshire now. My pink tutu is in the laundry (gotta keep that sparkle in tip-top shape, wouldn’t you agree?), but the spirit of Prague lingers. There’s still so much to see and discover in this captivating city, and I promise to be back for more! Don’t worry, my darlings. My Prague adventures are far from over! I'll be sure to share them all with you in my next blog post, here on www.pink-tutu.com. In the meantime, keep your tutus shining, your smiles wide, and your imaginations soaring!
See you next Wednesday for my adventures in Copenhagen! 💖✨
Until then, dance like nobody's watching... except me, in my pink tutu, of course! 😉
