Hello my darling darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! It's Wednesday, which means a fresh post from me, Emma, your resident pink tutu aficionado, straight from the cobbled streets of Prague! 🌸
This week, Prague has stolen my heart - and not just because it's absolutely brimming with stunning architecture and history. This city feels like a fairytale! The little winding streets, the ornate buildings, the cafes bursting with laughter… it’s enough to make a girl spin right round, pink tutu and all! 🩰
Before I get swept away by Prague’s magic, let me fill you in on how I arrived here…
Remember the amazing ballet competition in Budapest last week? Well, it turned out to be the perfect springboard to Prague. The prize – a breathtaking, custom-made tutu adorned with pink crystals, just for me – was the perfect fuel for my artistic spirit. And to celebrate, I decided on a whirlwind tour of Europe, starting with Prague.
For a truly authentic travel experience, I opted for a charming journey by train, which took me through the rolling green hills of Slovakia. As we sped along, I gazed out the window, my heart filled with a joyful flutter of anticipation. Prague! It felt like a whisper on the wind, drawing me ever closer.
Once in Prague, the only way to explore properly was by pony, of course! Imagine - cobblestone streets, quaint buildings, and me, riding my magnificent pony, a beautiful, pink-hued creature, in my pink tutu! People stopped, cheered, and took photos… just another day in the life of a pink tutu adventurer, eh?
The Prague Ballet… A Dance Through History! But back to the reason I actually came to Prague: to witness the extraordinary performance of the Prague Ballet! This city boasts an astonishing ballet legacy, steeped in rich history, and it’s clear that the art of dance runs deep in the hearts of the Czechs.
I saw ‘La Sylphide’ at the beautiful National Theatre, a magnificent building with a history dating back to the 1800s. It’s been said that it’s the jewel of Czech culture and the most visited performing arts space in the country, and after my visit, I couldn't agree more!
I was captivated by the storytelling of ‘La Sylphide’, the intricate steps of the dancers, and the emotion that pulsed through every gesture. Seeing the beauty and grace of the ballet dancers with the beautiful, rich music, felt like being transported into another world, another time. It was utterly enchanting, the perfect way to celebrate my love for ballet in Prague.
And did I mention my outfit? 😉 It was pink, of course! I'd spent ages choosing the perfect tutu for the evening. It’s a voluminous, romantic design with layers of soft pink tulle, complete with glittering pink sequins that captured every spark of light in the theatre. My companions for the evening, my trusty pink gloves and my dazzling pink headband, provided the perfect touch of sophistication and chic. I truly felt like a fairytale princess stepping onto the stage.
Discovering Prague’s hidden Gems… with a touch of Pink! But Prague isn’t just about ballets. There’s so much to discover. The iconic Prague Castle, with its magnificent gothic towers and enchanting architecture, was an absolute must-see. The fairytale charm of the Old Town Square, with its clock tower that chimed on the hour, making me smile every time. I loved walking over the Charles Bridge, with its colourful, historic buildings and statues, each telling a story. It felt like stepping back in time, with my pink tutu adding a little splash of modern colour.
As an aspiring pink-tutu aficionado, my trip was incomplete without a visit to the local designer stores to get my fashion fix. I found myself drawn to a charming vintage boutique in a hidden back street, and within seconds, I was surrounded by exquisite silk and delicate lace. Imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a pink lace tutu with matching bolero jacket! I couldn't resist adding it to my ever-growing pink-tutu collection! 🛍️
Speaking of fashion, let’s talk street style! The Prague locals embraced bold colours and chic style with effortless grace. The men and women sported a delightful blend of modern and traditional, from flowing floral prints and statement jewelry to leather jackets and sleek, sophisticated outfits. I saw a lot of red, which I knew instantly would be a perfect match for my favourite shade of pink!
I have to mention the wonderful street performances that Prague had to offer, with skilled musicians filling the squares with their melodious tunes, while talented street dancers showcased their awe-inspiring talents, all for the amusement of passing tourists like me! One performer, who had clearly mastered ballet, surprised me by wearing a stunning pink tutu – proof that pink-tutu love is global! 💕
And the food…oh my, the food! Every bite was an adventure, each meal a taste of heaven. I savored rich, comforting dumplings, enjoyed delicate, mouthwatering pastries, and sipped delicious, freshly brewed Czech coffee, always served in the most beautiful porcelain cups!
Farewell, Prague! 💖All in all, Prague was an unforgettable experience. The city's magic, history, and people, along with its beautiful, pink-filled moments, will stay with me forever! I can't wait to return and continue exploring this stunning city.
So, what's next? I’m heading back to Derbyshire, England to perform a few more ballet performances to raise some funds for my next adventure - but don't worry, I'll be back in no time, and I promise to bring you all with me!
