Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina's Dream Come True (Post 1617)

Hello, darlings! It's Wednesday, which means a fresh Pink Tutu post is fluttering your way, straight from the magical city of Prague!

You all know how much I love a good train journey, and the train ride from Derbyshire was an absolute dream. It was so much fun picking out a little vintage lace dress to wear โ€“ the colours matched the setting sun, and I swear, I could hear Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake playing in the fields as we zipped along!

I always love to step off the train and embrace a new city, especially one with such history as Prague. You can practically feel the echoes of ballerinas dancing through the cobbled streets, even the buildings seem to have a certain graceful elegance. And Prague Castle, oh my, I could have spent days wandering those fairytale-like grounds!

Of course, being in Prague, the main event had to be ballet! This weekend is all about the show "Romeo & Juliet", which is so iconic, and they even use a beautiful traditional tutu for Juliet โ€“ something I just have to get my hands on, it's a dream come true. I always try to sneak a peek backstage, too, to see how they create the magic. You wouldn't believe the amount of detail that goes into making a single tutu!

And you know I can't go to a new city without exploring the fashion scene, right? I was practically giddy walking through Prague's vintage shops, which are like stepping back into a golden age of ballet costumes โ€“ oh the lace, the silk, the stunning embellishments! And the colours! Oh the colours! They were practically begging to be made into a ballet! I ended up with a stunning scarlet dress for the theatre, perfect for making a statement. I've already got the most gorgeous pink feather boa picked out, just need the right heels now!

There are just so many charming cafes in Prague too! It's a must for me to stop and indulge in some hot chocolate with whipped cream (my inner child demands it) before I visit the theatre. Of course, I always need to have some beautiful cakes on hand. This week, I treated myself to a meringue cloud with strawberry filling - absolutely divine.

The main event โ€“ the show! I'm seeing it in the beautiful, opulent Municipal House โ€“ the ornate architecture and dazzling chandeliers were just like a scene out of a classic ballet.

And the show, oh, the show! It was absolutely mesmerising, a beautiful blend of classic ballet and modern drama. I'm going to keep this review short as to avoid spoilers but... if you can, GO! And, when you do, be sure to take pictures, but most importantly, feel it in your heart. Ballet is such a beautiful, expressive artform, I hope you all get to experience this too.

To top off a truly fabulous week, I finally found a little shop on the banks of the Vltava River which stocks the most exquisite tutus. Not your average tutus though! They are perfectly pink! I picked up one that shimmers in shades of rose and salmon. And oh my goodness, it felt magical as soon as I put it on, like I was twirling amongst the fairies!

If youโ€™re thinking of heading to Prague anytime soon, please do! This truly is a ballerina's dream, and I can't wait to tell you all about it in my next Pink Tutu post.

Stay tuned next Wednesday for more exciting adventures from Prague!

Now, Iโ€™m off to practice my pirouettes. Maybe one day Iโ€™ll even make it onto the stage in Prague!

Until next week, darlings!

Love, Emma
