Pink Tutu Prague: A Ballerina’s Dream Come True! (Blog Post #1620)

Hello darlings! It’s your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballerina, Emma, back with another fabulous instalment from the heart of Europe – Prague! Oh, this city is a dream for any ballerina, a fairytale in stone and shimmering glass. And trust me, my tutus are feeling absolutely at home here amongst all the fairytale castles, cobblestone streets, and whimsical charm!

As you all know, I'm on a mission to spread the joy of pink tutus and all things ballet across the globe. And let me tell you, this city is positively embracing my message!

I arrived in Prague, naturally, by train – there’s just something magical about gliding across Europe on the rails, a perfect accompaniment to my latest tutu acquisition – a gloriously delicate, blush-pink confection with sparkling gold embroidery. You wouldn't believe how well it matched the autumn foliage in the countryside as we whizzed by. I mean, seriously, picture perfect, as the Brits would say!

The first order of business, of course, was to check in to my hotel. A charming boutique hotel in the Old Town, just a hop, skip, and a twirl away from the Charles Bridge – what could be more picturesque?! You could almost imagine Tchaikovsky's swan lake soundtrack swirling through the streets!

But before I even settled my suitcase (which, by the way, was filled with enough pink tutus to make even the most dedicated fashionista gasp), I had to go out and explore. My first port of call: the magical Charles Bridge itself.

Oh, it’s simply breathtaking, all these statues of saints and legends watching over the Vltava River. Imagine how it looked when it was newly built, with everyone in their finest gowns and hats – I would have absolutely adored it!

But honestly, it’s impossible to be in Prague without visiting the stunning Prague Castle. It’s like stepping into a medieval fairytale – towering walls, shimmering spires, and cobblestone courtyards with hidden gardens… I simply adore how Prague embraces its history!

I felt a special connection with the castle’s architecture, reminding me of those majestic royal ballets. I imagined a procession of dancers in swirling gowns crossing those bridges in costumes of exquisite pink silks and glittering silver embroidery - a pink tutu dream indeed!

The food! Let me tell you, this is a food-lover’s paradise! I’ve tried everything from juicy pork knuckle and succulent goulash (though perhaps not at the same time!), to delicate, handcrafted pastries – all accompanied, of course, by copious amounts of local beer! Oh, and the best part – a fantastic shop dedicated to everything pink and sparkly. Now I have the most beautiful pink tutu bag, it perfectly matched the colour of my new blush pink tutu, so I felt so much ‘pinks in a row’ bliss when I carried it on my shopping adventure!

Speaking of shopping, Prague is a paradise for fashionistas like me! Everywhere I turn there are vintage boutiques bursting with beautiful fabrics and enchanting designs - I couldn’t resist indulging in a fabulous vintage lace tutu, which I imagine would have looked divine on an Edwardian ballerina. And then there are the countless little shops offering beautifully crafted Bohemian glass trinkets - they would look perfect alongside my vintage tutu collection!

Of course, no trip to Prague would be complete without a visit to the National Theatre. The very thought of stepping inside a building where Tchaikovsky and other great composers saw their works brought to life makes me giddy! It’s a true gem of architecture and I can’t wait to see what they're staging during my stay.

Ballet Bliss:

Today, on 24th June, 2026 - The National Theatre presents "La Sylphide" which has had a recent resurgence of popularity in recent years - it's been the hot ballet for a couple of years - all about a beautiful sylph being abducted from the highlands. Oh, it promises to be utterly breathtaking. I just can't wait! This performance has already got me in the mood to spin, leap, and tutu my way around Prague’s charming streets.

Prague has been so enchanting, but tomorrow, I’m off on another adventure! My pink tutu is already packed, and ready for my next destination, which is just as lovely as this one.

Stay tuned to find out where I'll be dancing next - but I have a feeling it’ll involve some more castles, charming squares and maybe, just maybe, another horse-drawn carriage or two!

Until next Wednesday, darlings, stay fabulous and wear pink!

Lots of love,

Emma
