Hello darlings! It's your favourite tutu-clad adventurer Emma, back with a brand new #PinkTutuRome blog post! I've finally made it to the breathtaking, historical heart of Italy, Rome, and I am absolutely buzzing with excitement. As usual, I'm keeping you updated on all my sartorial and sightseeing adventures, right here on www.pink-tutu.com every Wednesday. This is my #PinkTutuRome series, which started on 10th April 2022, so you can check out the past few posts to see what adventures we've been on. Iāve been on such a journey, from my beloved Derbyshire to the bustling streets of Rome, and guess what? The #PinkTutu travelled in style by train. First class of course! Letās just say I caused quite a stir as I floated through the carriages - just imagine the tutus twirling, darling!
Rome! It's all about the history and culture, the delectable food (oh the pasta!), the charming cafes, and the most stunning architecture - all of which I intend to soak up, capture on camera, and share with you, my wonderful followers! You guys inspire me and it is the ultimate compliment when you get dressed in pink tutus and even start ballet classes thanks to my inspiration.
Right, let's talk about today, 23rd July 2025. Itās Wednesday, which is of course, my favourite day! As I sit here in the heart of Rome at the cafĆ© by the Trevi Fountain, sipping my cappucchino, I am so happy to be sharing all this with you! But before I get carried away with all the excitement, let's backtrack a bit and explore how this #PinkTutuRome journey came to be!
My last blog post was all about how the āballet of lifeā takes me to the most incredible places. I had the amazing opportunity to dance a breathtaking performance at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden! Can you believe it, darling? The Royal Opera House, and my little pink tutu took centre stage. Oh, and I even managed to snag some gorgeous silk scarves, inspired by the Italian ballet āGiselleā - just imagine all the ways I'm going to pair them with my tutus, for my next Instagram ballet session! The money I made from my performance and all the incredible sales of my beautiful ballet wear will, of course, fund my adventures. That is the key to making my passion for dancing and the pink tutu work, so that I can keep travelling and sharing with you!
The Italian Journey This time, Italy beckoned with a chorus of "Mamma Mia!ā and all I could think was: āIt's coming home!ā (Ok, I'm British, so forgive me that).
It's amazing how everything I love about fashion is found in Italy! Italian couture and design! I had a feeling that this would be my perfect inspiration and already I can't wait to show you all the stunning #PinkTutu outfits I'm planning on rocking! We're talking vibrant colours, incredible fabrications and, of course, a touch of the pink tutu magic!
Train to Rome - A Journey of Enchantment It wouldnāt be right to start a new blog post without giving a huge shoutout to the journey. My train ride to Rome, was a magical, and slightly chaotic, affair! Iāve always loved train journeys, I feel like they provide the perfect time to write, take photographs, plan, and dream - I find a lot of inspiration whilst on a train. And then, of course, the incredible scenery! It was a little more adventurous than I anticipated though! My journey started with an unexpected strike - apparently everyone wanted the same day off! And to make it a little more dramatic, my suitcase, full of #PinkTutu travel essentials was, as luck would have it, one of the ones that got left behind! gulp Now, that would have been the end of any old journey, but darling, weāre talking #PinkTutu travels. Cue the fast-paced fashion show!
What's a tutu-loving adventurer to do when she finds herself stuck with just a pink tutu and the clothes on her back? I mean, surely there had to be a ballet somewhere close? Yes, you guessed it, I had to get back to my roots - a little bit of a ballet performance in a bustling station never hurts! It turned into my most creative outfit change in ages, and luckily, some of the other travellers were impressed. To my surprise, I attracted quite the crowd in the main station, who had probably been tired of waiting, and I had the audience captivated by my impromptu performance! Oh, it was chaotic, but so much fun, a complete spectacle and of course it brought me an instant boost and I felt a sense of pure magic - what a beautiful reminder that sometimes a journey takes you on an unexpected adventure!
Roman Rhapsody
As you all know, I love a little theatricality - and Rome does it exceptionally well. Today, I am on the lookout for the best Opera house or Theatre where I might get a ballet ticket - there is always something so special about the theatrical side of ballet. Now, as you may know I'm all about exploring the local sights so you'll get to see them with me! Today, we are going to see the Colosseum, which has been on my travel wish list for years, so be prepared for some Instagrammable images (no spoilers for those who want to experience it themselves, of course, but Iāll give you some exciting teasers). I'll be heading into the city's hidden squares and courtyards, soaking up the charm, getting a real taste of La Dolce Vita, darling! And no trip to Rome is complete without a delicious pasta lunch at an outdoor restaurant in the Piazza Navona - just imagine me, perched on a patio in a bright pink tutu with my hair styled with gorgeous fresh pink roses. Pure fashion paradise!
