Pink Tutu Rome: Ciao Bella! #1599

Wednesday, 28th January 2026

Ciao bella! It's Emma here, back from a whirlwind week in the Eternal City of Rome! Can you believe I've finally made it? I've been dreaming of visiting this magnificent metropolis for ages, and now here I am, twirling through the cobbled streets in my signature pink tutu, soaking up the vibrant culture and ancient history.

It's been a fantastic week filled with ballet, shopping, delicious pasta, and more history than you can shake a Roman gladiator’s sword at! I swear, you could stumble upon a Roman ruin just walking down the street! And what's better than a perfectly pink tutu against the backdrop of ancient marble and terracotta? Absolutely nothing!

Rome – A Symphony of Sensory Delights

I love how the city blends ancient ruins with modern life, showcasing the captivating interplay between the old and the new. Walking around Rome is a feast for the senses. Just the air smells incredible; there's something so captivating about the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries that I just want to breathe it all in! And then there’s the sight of the iconic Trevi Fountain – you’ll be forgiven for feeling overwhelmed by its majestic beauty and the throngs of tourists jostling for their perfect selfie.

Speaking of tourists, I must admit, Rome is positively teeming with them! But you can’t help but be swept away by the joyful atmosphere. Even if the queues at the Pantheon were somewhat challenging (my tutus definitely weren’t meant for standing for hours!), there’s a delightful buzz of excitement. And once you actually get inside the Pantheon, wow! The engineering marvel of the ancient world will leave you in awe, I tell you!

Ballet Bliss in the Eternal City

Naturally, I had to include some ballet in my Rome adventure. I made my way to Teatro dell’Opera di Roma for an absolutely stunning production of ā€œSwan Lakeā€ – my favourite ballet of all time! It was so moving, and the music made me want to jump on stage and start twirling with the other dancers! Seeing it in a venue like the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma was something truly special, a night to remember forever. I couldn’t resist grabbing a programme to add to my collection! (And yes, of course, I had a pink tutu on!).

I managed to find a gorgeous ballet class at the heart of the city as well – just imagine, learning to pirouette while enjoying the breathtaking view of the Forum! Of course, it would be rude not to slip into my signature pink tutu, as you do! It goes without saying, it turned a lot of heads as I twirled my way through Rome.

Shopping Shenanigans

No trip to Rome is complete without some serious shopping! I had the most delightful time browsing through the bustling boutiques in Via Condotti – the designers’ showcase of Italy. I’ve found some amazing pieces to add to my wardrobe – gorgeous, delicate, pastel pink earrings that look positively magical on a white t-shirt (think of them as tiny pearls shimmering under the Roman sun!). But, there’s something incredibly beautiful about seeing how these Roman boutiques curate their spaces – think antique furniture with beautiful silks draped around them, each space exuding a kind of opulence and understated elegance I just can't get enough of!

However, if you want to browse on a budget, head to the Mercato Monti. This open-air market near Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is packed with eclectic and unique gifts – think leather bags and locally made ceramics. It's the perfect place to pick up a souvenir or two and indulge in your love of all things pink!

Pink Tutu Adventures: The Perfect Souvenir

And as a special treat for you lovely Pink Tutu followers, I've snapped a few photos in front of the Trevi Fountain, sporting my very own pink tutu with the most divine silk rose tucked into my hair. Oh, and did I mention the beautiful antique carousel in the gardens of Villa Borghese that I had a go on? It’s absolutely charming, the perfect place to imagine you are back in the 19th Century as you whirl around amongst all the pink, gold and white!

What's On This Wednesday in Rome

This Wednesday in Rome, we have the iconic Italian Opera Gala, held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica. They are holding a fantastic night showcasing some of the finest Italian talent and music. If you're visiting Rome, and love opera as much as I do, then check out their website for tickets!

Also, it's a pretty good day to visit one of my favourite art galleries – the Galleria Borghese. Located just across the road from the lovely Villa Borghese, this art museum is the perfect spot to be immersed in Renaissance art and the famous paintings by Caravaggio, Titian and Bernini. They even have an amazing collection of sculptures - and the art pieces are surrounded by manicured gardens. It's an idyllic escape from the busy streets!

So there you have it – a glimpse into my pink-tutu-filled week in Rome. This city truly captures my heart! Until next week, my darlings! Don't forget to put on your favourite pink tutu and let's spread some cheer around the world, one pirouette at a time.

Emma x
