Hey darlings! It's Emma, your resident pink-tutu enthusiast, back with another adventure from the wonderful world of dance! π
Today's post marks a very special milestone - number 10,660! π€― I can hardly believe it's been this long since I started sharing my passion for ballet with you all. From the cobbled streets of Derbyshire to the grandest opera houses, you've travelled with me through my blog, and I'm so grateful for every single one of you.π
This week, I found myself drawn to the beautiful seaside town of Weston-super-Mare. The mere mention of the place brings images of the majestic pier, the bustling promenade, and that iconic Victorian architecture. This was my dream destination for a classic English summer getaway β you know, the kind where you wear your best sundresses, sip on something refreshing (iced tea, perhaps!), and let the salty air refresh your soul.
But I wasn't about to let my love for ballet slip away, even amidst the sunshine and seagulls. So, naturally, I packed my trusty pink tutu β a lovely, silky number that twirls like a dream and instantly elevates any outfit. π€© It was perfect for adding a touch of ballerina chic to my seaside look.
Our journey to Weston-super-Mare involved my all-time favourite mode of transport: the train! π I simply adore those old-fashioned carriages with their plush seating and romantic views. The rhythmic clinking of the rails, the gentle rocking of the trainβ¦ it's truly the most calming and picturesque way to travel. I even managed to squeeze in a little impromptu ballet practice during the ride, much to the amusement of the fellow passengers. They all seemed to appreciate the touch of ballet magic on their journey. π
The minute we arrived in Weston, I knew I had to experience the charm of the iconic pier. With its candy floss hues, vibrant games, and breathtaking views of the coastline, the pier was like stepping into a childhood fairytale. My inner child couldnβt resist trying her hand at the traditional seaside amusements - I was rather pleased with myself for winning a gigantic, pink fluffy teddy bear at the "Hook-a-Duck" stall, proving once again that my dance training comes in handy in unexpected ways! π§Έπ
Speaking of seaside traditions, the beach is practically calling your name. As a big believer in finding beauty everywhere, even on a bustling beach, I felt the irresistible pull of the golden sand. And you know what? I couldnβt resist breaking out some of my ballet moves. Imagine: a lone, pink-clad dancer on the sands, with the ocean as her stage. ππ It was the most liberating, freeing dance experience of my life, and for a few magical moments, I truly felt like a mermaid princess! π§ββοΈπ
But wait, the adventures weren't over! After the beach, we found ourselves at the town's stunning Grand Pier. This magnificent Victorian structure truly captivates with its architectural beauty and bustling entertainment. I found myself swept away by the carnival atmosphere β a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours, the aroma of freshly made candy floss, and a contagious sense of fun that fills the air. I spent hours lost in this enchanting world, trying out my hand at a few arcade games. (Let's just say, my dance skills didnβt translate to those pesky shooting games! π ).
The highlight of my trip had to be a lovely afternoon tea at the pier's grand restaurant. With the breathtaking views of the coastline and the sweet, delicate flavours of English tea and cakes, it felt like a scene from a charming Victorian novel. And, naturally, I embraced the opportunity to add a touch of pink-tutu sparkle to the already charming atmosphere! π
Before I leave you all, letβs discuss a topic that's been dancing around in my head. You see, I believe ballet is for everyone! Iβm on a mission to get everyone tucking into their own pink tutu and finding the joy of moving their body in beautiful and expressive ways. It's all about finding that inner ballerina, no matter your age or background. So, whatβs stopping you? Join me in embracing the joy of movement, creativity, and a sprinkle of pink! πΈπ©°
I promise, even a few pirouettes on your kitchen floor will brighten your day and make you feel fantastic.
Stay pink and beautiful,
Emma x π
