Hello lovelies! π
Itβs Emma here, your resident pink tutu enthusiast and full-time ballet fanatic. And guess what? I've finally taken the plunge - I'm sporting a purple tutu! That's right, a daring departure from my signature pink. It felt like a bold statement, a leap of faith. It's like a brand new world of colour has opened up! π«
Now, where was I? Oh yes, Eltham! I ventured there this week for a whirlwind ballet adventure and of course, I took my purple tutu along for the ride. I'm not one to travel by plane, you see. The glamour of a steam train journey or a jaunt on a trusty steed is what really gets my heart racing. π
This time, I opted for the train. It's amazing how these metal marvels can whisk you away to different parts of the country, taking in the scenery and allowing you to meet all sorts of interesting people. Like a dear gentleman I met who had never seen a ballerina in a purple tutu before. π΄ "You look like a beautiful bird," he said, smiling warmly. And I couldn't help but blush! π₯°
Anyway, back to Eltham. I was thrilled to discover that this charming little town, just outside London, boasts a beautiful Victorian theatre with a history as rich as its ornate decor. This old girl's seen more ballerinas than she's had hot dinners, believe me! I could just picture all the fabulous dancers who've graced its stage throughout the years. β¨
I was there for a show put on by a local ballet company. They weren't a professional company, but my goodness, were they talented! They performed a stunning version of Giselle, and let me tell you, their energy was contagious! I found myself grinning like a Cheshire Cat throughout the entire show. π»
But the best part? It's true what they say - you can learn something new every day. Before the show, I had the pleasure of joining a masterclass taught by a veteran of the Royal Ballet. The class itself was truly an inspiration! I was amazed by the technical prowess and the artistic expression displayed. But what truly touched my heart was the kindness and encouragement of this remarkable woman.
She truly embodies what I try to do every day in my own little way: spread joy and encourage everyone to try ballet, even for just one class. Because, my lovelies, ballet is for everyone. We might be dainty in our tutus, but there's no denying our strength and passion. π©°
And, guess what else? Right outside the theatre, I stumbled upon the most charming wildlife sanctuary. I'm such a nature lover, and these guys had a beautiful collection of owls, hawks, and even a very curious badger. The staff told me stories about how they rescued these creatures and provided them with a safe haven. Honestly, the entire experience left me with a sense of calm and joy that just can't be replicated! π¦
I know you might think it's a bit eccentric to wear a purple tutu to Eltham, but hey, that's just my style! Every adventure is an opportunity to express yourself, to embrace your individuality, and to spread a little bit of pink tutu magic along the way. And if my little purple dance across England can inspire someone to put on their own tutu, well, that's a win in my book!
So, what are you waiting for, lovelies? Head out and find your own adventure, don your favourite tutu, and remember: life is a dance, and you're the choreographer! π
Until next time,
Emma
