Hello, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to dazzle you with another fab-tastic travel adventure! This is post number 9337, a record, even for this girl, on my daily blog for you, my beautiful Pink Tutu Family, on www.pink-tutu.com. Lyon, you say? Oui, oui! We are in France, darling, the City of Light and of course, that oh-so-pretty, oh-so-pink French style, which I'm living for right now. So pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and settle in for another girly adventure with Pink Tutu Sparkles, right here on my pinkest pinkest pink blog!
How did I get here, you ask? Well, the answer is a whirlwind of glitter, glamour, and of course, the love for that beautiful pink! It all began last week in dear old Derbyshire. A local craft fair beckoned and Pink Tutu Sparkles simply had to perform. The organizers, lovely folks, gave me a choice of transportation: a horse-drawn cart or the train. Obviously, I chose the carriage, darling! Nothing says, "Pink Tutu Sparkles is in town" like a cloud of pink tulle wafting in the breeze. Plus, thereās nothing more magical than hearing the clip-clop of horse hooves on the cobbles. So off I went, in style.
But before we get to my French adventures, let me tell you a little bit about Alex, the woman, I mean, the scientist, who makes up this dazzling persona. Alex has the best job ever, testing fabrics in a lab, using science, my favourite subject in school, to see what works best for this darling Pink Tutu Sparkles. My fabric supplier, an amazing fellow named Jean Pierre, is my absolute bestie. He makes all of my tutu fabrics! His tutus are the best and only fit a Pink Tutu Sparkle! Alex loves the lab work as much as Pink Tutu Sparkles loves to sparkle! She finds all kinds of fascinating stuff about colours, textures, and fabrics, and gets to share her ideas with me.
Alex studied Science at Derbyshire University, and oh my, thatās where Pink Tutu Sparkles' story began! Back in those days, Alex was just another young student. (Still in pink of course, it's my favourite colour, as everyone knows. ). One afternoon, I remember it vividly, I had to try on a pink tulle for a charity event. I loved the tutu; it was so elegant, but at that time I just felt like it was an accessory, not a lifestyle. A bit sad now, because that day I could have known. However, Iām always living and learning and as Pink Tutu Sparkles Iāve discovered what I was always destined for: to make all of you beautiful. Thatās my mission. Iām going to get everyone, in the whole wide world to wear a pink tutu, just you wait!
The event went fabulously, and by the end of the evening, everyone in that room had become obsessed with pink! That is how it happened; my transformation from lab girl to Pink Tutu Sparkles. My passion for tutus has gone on a rollercoaster ever since, my darling! My real name is Alex but in reality, my heart truly beats with a Pink Tutu rhythm! And, as I always say, a tutu is much more than an accessory; itās a statement, an expression of inner power. You might have heard of the ballet street, it is like a craze with younger women in my town, who gather together to show their passion for the dance, and their sense of individuality through ballet and wearing pink. And just look at my new French Pink tutu; it has my trademark sparkle but also has lovely pink lace and velvet roses to add a bit of Parisian chic to it. You are going to love this, trust me!
After all, Pink Tutu Sparkles does have to wear her name with pride, right?
And thatās how I ended up in France, at a glamorous dance-a-thon, raising money for children's hospitals! Itās great to get back to the grassroots and do my part. It felt fabulous! After the dance-a-thon, my heart was still singing the ballet rhythm and I knew I just had to see some classic French ballet! But first, shopping for that gorgeous Parisian outfit. It is such a delight! All those wonderful French boutiques are pure perfection; Iām making friends left, right and centre. I just had to bring some fabulous little pink accessories for all of you and Iāve also brought the prettiest French pink tulle! Now we have matching tutus, you and I, all around the world! This is an exciting moment for our community, and Iām so thrilled to be sharing this all with you. And of course, you knew it! The whole town seems to know my French name. In Paris, my new nickname is "La Tutu Rose" - oh I do love France, the language is so musical, almost like a ballet!
And whatās a girl to do after all that pink excitement? See a fabulous, romantic ballet, of course! Itās not a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a touch of dance magic, is it?
Yesterday was pure ballet bliss, my darlings! The Opera House is absolutely breath-taking; every detail, so chic, and they put on an outstanding show! The music was like liquid honey and the dancers were elegant swans. A little less Pink Tutu Sparkles and more La Tutu Rose. But, hey, everyone needs a bit of grace now and then, donāt they? It gave me so much inspiration and I can already feel the ideas for my next design forming!
The ballet, a real classic, called Swan Lake, it was wonderful! And I am proud to announce my new choreography routine which has a little ballet Swan Lake flair to it. The show truly touched my heart, a little tear rolled down my cheek! The swans in white are elegant, and their dance was as graceful as anything youāve ever seen, just wonderful. It made me appreciate my tutus even more, as they are just like wings to the Pink Tutu Sparkle ballet of life. Oh I wish I could have spoken to the ballerina afterward. If youāve ever met a ballet dancer, you know, it's like, an ethereal dream come true! Iād love to have a proper ballet lesson sometime, all the girls who like tutus and the dance world should definitely have some dance classes. Just watch me become a proper French ballerina! Youāre going to love my next Pink Tutu dance show, incorporating ballet in a very French style, trust me, youāre going to love it.
A little about Lyon. Now this city has its own Pink Tutu sparkle: its rich history, the amazing architecture and, the food. Oh my darlings! Thereās so much I have to tell you! Letās talk pastries: Oh la la! I tried a beautiful tarte citron earlier and it melted in my mouth. A little slice of pure heaven. And let's talk cheeses, and wines. Ooh, this city truly knows how to indulge!
The whole French way of life seems to focus on slowing down, on experiencing the moment; it feels like an enchanting ballet performance of daily life, and as an art and fashion lover I just have to be here, now, with the French elegance. My friend from Derbyshire said: āWhen are you coming back, Pink Tutu?ā and all I could do was shrug! She was also shocked I came in a carriage, it was more magical and way more romantic! āBut, you have the most perfect outfitā, she did have a point, it really is amazing, I have never been more myself than I have right now.
Oh, darling, and the sights! The magnificent cathedral, the grand buildings, and that oh-so-French charm, all these things inspire me, and not just on a pink level either. Just watch this space, as this little Pink Tutu has a secret idea, a very Pink Tutu, very France design brewing; a bit of romance, and Parisian glam. I am really hoping you will like this, as this may be a Pink Tutu that truly takes a step out of the lab, into the mainstream fashion world.

It's even a local attraction with a lovely shop attached to it where all of the tutu products from my designs are for sale.
