As I type this, I can practically taste the energy of the city. There's something so electrifying about this place. It's like the world's biggest, most fabulous stage, and I'm ready to steal the show (with a little help from my trusty pink tutu, of course)!

From Derbyshire to the Big Apple
Getting here was a real adventure, which, of course, meant ditching the usual flying routine. Let's face it, the glamour of a train journey just can't be beaten. Picture this: a comfy compartment, the scenery whizzing past, a good book in hand, and me, perched perfectly in my pastel-pink suit, surrounded by my sequined accessories. It was pure magic!
This isn't my first rodeo in New York, though it feels like coming home to a familiar friend. Remember my last trip, back in the springtime, when I explored Central Park and did a whirlwind tour of the Broadway shows? That was absolute heaven!
This time, my plan is to take it slow and soak it all in. There are so many incredible ballet schools and performances happening right now. You bet your bottom dollar I'm going to be spending hours in class, honing my pirouette skills, and maybe even getting some inspiration for a brand new routine. It's like a dream come true – getting paid to dance in a fluffy pink tutu! Talk about a fairy-tale!
Pink-Tastic Shopping Adventures
It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles trip without a little shopping therapy, right? You know I'm all about supporting local designers and independent stores, and New York City is the mecca for everything fabulously unique! I'm already imagining the treasures I'll find in vintage shops, hidden away in quirky side streets. You know me, a queen can never have too many tutus, right?
My heart is set on finding some dazzling accessories: a statement feather boa, a pair of over-the-top sparkly earrings, and a bejeweled crown to top it all off! This time, though, I'm also looking for something special for my day-time self, Alex. A touch of the Pink Tutu Sparkles magic in my everyday life.

My Day Job is Just as Fab (Pink, Obviously!)
When I'm not dazzling on stage in a cloud of glitter and feathers, I’m back to my day job as a textile scientist. My lab is where I test the strength and durability of fabrics, and it's just as interesting as performing on stage, even if it's a tad less sparkly! But, hey, think about it: it's basically the same thing – a backstage crew making sure everything is perfect and glamorous, and every once in a while we're surprised with the discovery of something completely new and unexpected.
It's true, I lead a pretty hectic life, but it's all in a day's work for this glamorous scientist. Just imagine, coming to the lab in a stunning power suit and a touch of pink – that's me, always trying to spread my pink-tastic joy wherever I go.

I’ve been so lucky in my life. I got to live my truth and be true to myself. Being Pink Tutu Sparkles is my superpower.
