Can you believe it's September already? The leaves are turning golden, the air is getting crisp, and this fabulous Queen is on the road again! This time, the call of the stage has led me to the charming town of Loughborough! I've been absolutely buzzing to perform there ever since I saw the adorable little venue I'll be gracing - a proper old-fashioned theatre, with red velvet seats and a twinkling chandelier. It's like stepping straight out of a fairytale! ✨
Now, I know what you're thinking: "Loughborough? But that's in the Midlands! What on earth could a tutu-wearing queen possibly do there?" Well, darlings, Loughborough is actually bursting with hidden gems, not to mention a thriving arts scene. The moment I stepped off the train, I could just feel the creative energy humming through the air. The market square was filled with people, all in good spirits and excited to be out and about. I spotted a darling little vintage shop, filled with sparkling treasures just waiting to be discovered. Honestly, I could have spent hours browsing!
But there was no time for shopping today, because tonight's performance was my main focus! And speaking of performing, I have to confess, the travel arrangements for this trip were particularly enchanting. You see, I’m a creature of habit. Train rides and good company are my usual mode of transportation. However, this time, the magic of the occasion had me travelling like a true royal… on horseback! I won’t go into the details of how it happened - suffice it to say, I made some new friends, one of whom had a magnificent horse called Diamond. And who could resist a chance to ride on a beautiful animal named Diamond? Especially when you have a glittering tutu to wear! ✨
I’m going to tell you something: riding through the Derbyshire countryside on a horse, feeling the sun on my face and the wind in my hair, with a cloud of pink tulle swirling around my legs - it was utterly dreamy! It's like I stepped straight out of a film, the kind where you feel that magical, “anything is possible" feeling. It definitely put me in the perfect mood for the show!
And talking about shows, dear darlings, you simply have to hear about the amazing people I met in Loughborough. From the local drag queens to the enthusiastic volunteers, the creative energy here is something truly special. There’s an authentic spirit of generosity and joy, and it’s infectious! Even in the most ordinary corners of this town, you can sense a yearning for something different, something vibrant, something just a little bit extra… a kind of pink tutu energy!
Of course, being a dedicated Queen, I had to spread a little bit of tutu-love before my show. The kids at the local youth theatre were absolutely mesmerized by my bright pink dress, and a few even dared to touch the fabulous tulle! I was lucky enough to teach a small class in ballet street, too. Honestly, it's impossible not to smile when you see these young dancers expressing themselves through movement, letting their hearts shine. These youngsters were such naturals! 🥰
Oh, I nearly forgot - before I took to the stage, I also had a chance to experience one of the most beautiful ballet performances I've seen in ages! It was staged in a gorgeous, old hall, and the dancing was so emotive, it made my heart soar! My love of ballet will always remain, especially now I’ve started going to classes myself. Honestly, there's something truly special about being surrounded by so much talent and passion. 🩰
And now for the grand finale - my show! Loughborough embraced me with open arms and even louder cheers. Seeing the crowd laughing and clapping along was more rewarding than I could ever imagine. We sang, we danced, we even managed a little bit of impromptu pink tutu crafting with the audience! My show is always about bringing a bit of fun and fantasy into everyone’s life. In a world where sometimes things feel a bit too serious, my aim is to remind everyone of the power of laughter and imagination. And by the way, have I told you that my dream is to get everyone to wear a pink tutu? Maybe I just need to travel the whole world to make that happen! 🌎💖
