Hello my darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to dazzle you with another tale of twirls and travel, and yes, tutus, lots of tutus. I’m writing to you from the charming town of Morley, a lovely little pocket of Yorkshire that has stolen my heart. I was here on November 11th, 2025, for a whirlwind of ballet and blooms - can you believe it? A truly magical combo!
My journey to Morley started like a scene out of a fairytale. Instead of hopping on a carriage, I chose to take the scenic route on a train journey that snaked through the beautiful British countryside. Picture rolling green hills, the smell of autumn leaves, and sunshine breaking through the clouds just as I was passing through a village filled with red phone booths and quaint cafes. It was pure movie magic!
Reaching Morley, the first thing that greeted me was the scent of blooming roses! This little town, hidden away, had these stunning floral displays all over - hanging baskets, beds in full bloom, even a miniature garden inside a shoe shop. Now, if that’s not the kind of fairytale scene worthy of a pink tutu, I don't know what is! I couldn’t resist stopping to admire the flowers and the colourful vintage market. It was a photographer's dream come true and just a joy for the soul, the colour, the energy.
Of course, as a true ballet lover, I was here for a special event: a showing of "Swan Lake" by the Royal Ballet. I just adore watching ballet. I was completely mesmerised! The grace, the fluidity, the strength – everything about this performance was incredible. And yes, darling, it goes without saying, I made a stunning entrance. Pink Tutu Sparkles turned heads as I waltzed into the theatre in my latest masterpiece – a three-tiered pink tutu with swirling layers of silver tulle. And wouldn’t you know it, I spotted three other tutus in the audience, all adorned in shades of pink and lavender! Oh, I must tell you about it, the colour combination, I will get Alex (that’s me in my real-life persona, darling) to swatch the fabric tomorrow. It was so much fun just spotting the others! You know it just brings joy to my life knowing more and more people are embracing the pink tutu magic. It was simply amazing to see fellow tutu-lovers and to share this beautiful experience.
After the ballet, we were treated to an enchanting evening. It was at The Old Crown Inn. Morley is renowned for its traditional pubs and inns. And The Old Crown Inn did not disappoint. I sipped on a glass of chilled champagne whilst Alex had a locally brewed ale and listened to the pub's own folk band – it was like stepping back in time. I felt a little peckish so had a lovely selection of Yorkshire pudding wraps with stuffing and sausage meat. Oh so satisfying. Alex did a proper pub quiz. As you all know, the lovely Alex does love his pub quiz nights. I actually was top scoring on my questions (my team, The Sparkling Swans, got third place). We were in our element.
Now, before I sign off, darling, remember my little goal: To make the world a pink tutu-wearing paradise? I saw several little girls with pink tutus in the market - this made me so happy, I did get a picture, but sadly they wouldn’t pose with me! My heart felt like it was going to explode! Every time I see someone rocking a pink tutu, I get butterflies in my tummy.

I was really fortunate that when I was at university (in my real-life guise, Alex) I tried on a tutu for a university fundraising event. That event put me on the path to where I am now and Pink Tutu Sparkles is ready to make her mark! I'm not saying a tutu can’t have an on-stage moment; it’s the very heart of ballet. I do a fair bit of ballet inspired dancing, but I encourage everyone to add some magic to everyday life with a tutu.

I always love to find a bit of mischief, you don’t have to always wear a tutu on stage, we need to bring some more joy to the world. We can’t all live our lives like drag artists!
