Hello my darling dears! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, and I'm absolutely buzzing to share with you my recent trip to Newbury, the stunning town where I was lucky enough to grace the stage (or should I say, the floor!) on the 20th of November!
Now, if you haven't been to Newbury, I urge you to put it on your list! It's a charming place with cobbled streets and beautiful old buildings, perfect for a pink-tutu-clad queen to frolic around. And let me tell you, my fabulous fuchsia tutu and shimmering pink sequins definitely added some sparkle to the historic setting!
I have to admit, my journey there was almost as much fun as the performance itself! I chose to travel by train, of course - always a chic and stylish way to go! My fellow passengers certainly had their eyes glued to my pink tulle masterpiece as I sashayed down the carriage!
Upon arriving in Newbury, the excitement truly began! The hotel I stayed at was a charming little boutique with a quintessentially English garden where I could be seen practising my twirls between fittings and rehearsals! I even spotted a family of rabbits in the garden - quite fitting for the "Pink Tutu Sparkles" brand, wouldn't you say?
Of course, a trip to a new place is never complete without a spot of shopping. Newbury certainly did not disappoint! The town is packed with adorable boutiques, and I was on a mission to find the perfect accessory for my upcoming performance. You guessed it! I found the most dazzling pink feathered boa, perfect for my "Pink Feathers Fly!" routine! (More on that later, darling).
As evening drew closer, it was time to get ready! I popped on my "Newbury" ensemble, featuring a custom-made pink tutu adorned with hand-sewn sequin stars. I always find the pre-performance jitters are an exciting sensation. The adrenaline rush combined with the energy of the audience - nothing quite compares to it! And then, the moment I had been waiting for – the show!
Let me tell you, Newbury welcomed me with open arms! The audience was full of warmth, and my pink tutu performance was a smashing success. There was dancing, laughter, and plenty of glitter, and of course, some gorgeous tutus!
My mission in life, dear readers, is to get everyone wearing a pink tutu. And the success of my "Tutu Together" workshop following the performance just reinforced this belief. I spent an hour teaching the adorable local ladies all the secrets of rocking a pink tutu – from finding the perfect fit to confidently embracing their inner queen!
Now, remember my "Pink Feathers Fly!" routine? It's a brand-new act, a flamboyant fusion of ballet moves, hip-hop street-style, and a dash of pure whimsy, all sprinkled with, well, pink feathers, naturally! It's all about embracing those girly vibes and being yourself, no matter what people might say. After all, that's what Pink Tutu Sparkles is all about!
But my love of tutus started long before my drag days. It was a happy accident, really. Back in my uni days, while I was working towards a science degree, I stumbled upon the university's ballet club. Intrigued by the delicate grace of these dancers, I dared to try on a tutu at a charity event. One spin, one glance in the mirror, and I knew - pink tutus were going to become my signature.
And they have, darling! Pink tutus became my artistic outlet. While by day I'm a lab scientist, meticulously testing the quality of fabric (how fitting, I know!), by night I become Pink Tutu Sparkles, a shining beacon of feminine joy!
There's so much I love about travelling, especially in the pursuit of my pink-tutu dreams. Each journey is an opportunity to inspire others to embrace their inner queen and showcase the beautiful magic that resides within.
I've been travelling this road for a while now. It started right here in my hometown of Derbyshire, but since then, I've twirled my way through bustling cities, quaint towns, even performed on a circus tent! The journey, dear readers, has been absolutely fantastic.
