Kingswood Calling: Tutu Queen's 9458th Post! 🩰💖

Oh my darlings, are you ready for some serious pink-tastic fun?! This queen is absolutely buzzing to be in beautiful Kingswood, and I’ve already got a feeling this trip’s gonna be a corker! 👑✨

You know, ever since I donned my first pink tutu in those halcyon days of uni, I’ve been dreaming of taking my pink fluffiness to every corner of the UK, and Kingswood was definitely top of my wish list!

Let’s Talk Travel: 🚂

My journey here was absolutely magical, folks. You know I prefer to travel the old-fashioned way, and nothing beats a whistle-stop adventure by train! I was lucky enough to snag a window seat, and as I gazed at the rolling green hills and sleepy villages, I felt a wave of pure joy wash over me.

I may be a city queen at heart, but there’s something truly enchanting about being able to truly feel the changing landscapes around me as I travel. It makes me think about all the amazing adventures that await me on my journey to conquer the world... with tutus, of course!

Kingswood Charm: 💎

My first stop upon arrival was a lovely little cafe called The Pink Peppermint. It’s a tiny, quaint little place, bursting with colour and charm. Imagine, if you will, vintage furniture adorned with lace, a wall of rainbow-hued cupcakes, and a menu brimming with delicious, homemade delights. You bet your bottom dollar that I sampled their raspberry and custard cupcake – heavenly! 💖

As for Kingswood itself, well, it’s a truly charming town, bursting with character. The historic market square is a real delight, lined with traditional cobblestone streets, gorgeous timber-framed buildings, and enough vintage shops to keep any true queen (and I know a thing or two about vintage) entertained for hours! I even found a beautiful hand-painted antique music box adorned with butterflies and, of course, a hint of pink!

Sharing My Sparkle: 👑

One of the absolute highlights of my Kingswood trip has been the chance to meet the wonderful, bubbly folks of the local ballet club. They’re all incredibly passionate about their dancing, and it was an absolute pleasure to join their practice session. Honestly, you wouldn’t believe the energy in that room! I could feel the magic in the air, as everyone came together in their shared love for the art form.

And guess what? After the session, the whole club donned their finest tutus (and a whole lot of pink, obviously!) for a little photo shoot with yours truly. It was a true blast from the past to twirl and leap amongst these bright-eyed, passionate dancers, remembering those incredible years I spent as part of the university ballet club!

The Art of Inspiration: 🩰

I’m actually taking a little break from performing here in Kingswood, which allows me to soak up all the culture and truly immerse myself in this amazing place. There’s an exhibition of contemporary ballet going on at the local art centre, and I’m just aching to experience its unique charm. Who knows? Perhaps this is the inspiration I need to bring some new creative flourishes to my next performance?

Of course, I’ll be making sure to fill you all in on my theatrical musings via my trusty social media channels!

A Tutu-tiful Feast: 🍽️

Let’s face it, no trip would be complete without a fabulous dinner! In a stroke of absolute serendipity, I stumbled upon The Blue Bonnet, a traditional English pub with a wonderfully old-school charm. Their fish and chips were just what this weary traveller needed, and I absolutely fell in love with their roast butternut squash and goats cheese salad, so yummy and incredibly filling!

And what does a pink tutu queen do when she wants to finish off her dinner in style? Well, a deliciously pink raspberry and vanilla milkshake, of course! I had one to match the fabulous pink lace shawl that I picked up at a lovely antique shop in the town. It was just so darn perfect, I had to grab it for myself! 💖

Pink Power is Kingwood Power!

As the day draws to a close, I can’t help but feel a surge of pink-tastic joy. This town has a special place in my heart already, and it’s got everything this travelling tutu queen needs – vibrant life, fascinating history, a sprinkle of glamour and a whole lot of warmth.

Of course, I couldn't have ended the day without spreading the pink tutu love a little, and I left a beautiful little vintage ballet costume at a charity shop - hopefully the lucky recipient will be as obsessed with tutus as I am! It is a fact, I’ll never shy away from a chance to share a little piece of pink joy with anyone who’ll accept it.

See, even as a busy scientist by day and a sparkling drag queen by night, spreading the love of pink and inspiring everyone to dance like nobody’s watching is truly what makes life an absolute dream! ✨💖

So until next time, darlings, keep shining! Don't forget to check out all my adventures on www.pink-tutu.com.

Love and glittery pink hugs, Pink Tutu Sparkles xoxo
