I know what you're thinking – "Cleethorpes? Really?" But trust me, darling, this little seaside gem is full of surprises. First things first, it's only a stone's throw from my lovely Derbyshire abode, and let's be honest, anything within a 2-hour train journey is prime tutu-travelling territory! 🚂 (Not that I ever rule out a grand adventure on horseback... those majestic steeds really understand a girl's need for dramatic entrances, you know?)
This trip has been brewing for ages. You see, darling, I'm not just about glitz and glam - I've always been a sucker for history. And Cleethorpes, my dears, boasts a seriously impressive past! We're talking about a Roman settlement, Viking invasions, even a Napoleonic prison camp! Talk about some dramatic backstory to get my creative juices flowing for my next performance! 🎭
Now, you all know my motto: “Every adventure is better with a tutu!” So, naturally, I packed my most whimsical pink tutu for this occasion. A vintage creation with cascading tiers of tulle, shimmering with delicate sequins that capture the light like a thousand little stars – just perfect for a seaside escapade! 💫 It even has matching pink ribbon to tie around my sparkly stiletto boots (no skimping on footwear when you're a queen!).
I kicked off my Cleethorpes escapade with a tour of the impressive Cleethorpes Coast Light, which boasts breathtaking views of the Humber estuary. It was almost as stunning as I am in my dazzling tutu! 😅 But the real magic unfolded later that afternoon at the Cleethorpes Sea Life Sanctuary. We're talking penguins waddling on rocks, adorable seals doing their underwater acrobatics, and, my favourite, the playful jellyfish – a bit like my onstage presence, but much more elegant, of course!
Later, as the sun started to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, I wandered through the charming seaside town, relishing the sweet smell of salty air and the sounds of laughing children playing on the pier. 🎡 This place truly oozed a magical nostalgia, bringing back memories of childhood holidays spent building sandcastles and splashing in the waves. Even with my flamboyant outfits and bold makeup, the seaside brought out my inner child - and I don't think that's a bad thing at all. 💖
I had the pleasure of performing at the town's famous “Pier Theatre”, the stage lights shimmering off my tutu with every graceful pirouette. Cleethorpes, bless their hearts, have a serious love for the theatre! I had the audience captivated with my dazzling rendition of "Pink Cadillac", even managed to pull a blushing sailor out for a graceful tango on stage (much to the delight of the entire audience!).
Speaking of hearts, I managed to find some serious hidden treasures in the quaint shops lining the high street. A gorgeous vintage pink cardigan that just screams "tutu queen", some charming seashell earrings (perfect for my next Instagram post!), and, best of all, a delicate little pearl necklace to complement my tutu and remind me of the sea's glistening charm. ✨
Cleethorpes has a special place in my heart now, lovelies. It's reminded me that even the smallest seaside towns can hold so much wonder and joy, and that there’s always magic to be found – even if you need a pink tutu to find it! 😉
