Helloooo my darling tutu-tastic followers! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the utterly charming Pinner, a town nestled in the heart of Middlesex. It feels like stepping back in time here, with quaint little shops and friendly faces all around. Of course, any trip needs a touch of pink sparkle, right?
My day started with a whirl around the town centre. I found a sweet little tea room called 'The Pink Rose'. Can you guess what colour tea I ordered? That's right, pink! It was delightful, and a perfect pick-me-up before my adventures in the realm of ballet.
This time, I decided to treat myself to a ballet class! Now, I don't pretend to be a professional, but every once in a while, a good ballet session does a girl's spirit good, and the lovely instructor at the Pinner Ballet School made it so fun. It felt absolutely wonderful to move gracefully with the other dancers, and we even did a bit of contemporary, which is just my cup of tea, especially with a twirl in a tutu. I can feel my confidence growing, just like a budding ballet rose. And of course, my outfit was on point, a vibrant pink tutu and a matching silk blouse. Can you imagine a tutu-loving girl like myself anywhere else but a ballet class?
The evening, my loves, was an absolute joy! After a quick freshen-up, I put on my sparkling gown and took a taxi to the local theatre for a performance of 'Giselle'. The performance was pure magic, a feast for the senses, the story told so beautifully. I even shed a happy tear! This isn't a spoiler, you guys! But 'Giselle' always tugs at my heartstrings.
Later on, I was invited to join a delightful picnic at the Pinner Memorial Park, which has the most delightful lake with swans and a gazebo that's almost worthy of a waltz. I, of course, brought my tutu along for the fun! After all, it's not everyday one can get to share a picnic with a fabulous drag queen! It was a brilliant chance to catch up with my local fans, listen to their stories and let them in on mine. It’s amazing to think, from a scientist to a performer, I can make so many people smile!
Talking about the local fans...I'm planning on doing a drag workshop here, maybe a beginners' workshop where you learn about the makeup, the costuming, and of course, how to do a fantastic walk in a tutu! What do you think?
Now, let's have a little chat about my journey to Pinner! For my 'Pinner Pink Paradise' adventure, I travelled by train. You know I love my train journeys. There’s something special about the slow rhythm, the landscape whizzing by, the fellow travelers. You just can't beat it. This train trip offered stunning views of the English countryside and gave me time to ponder what was to come, all in the glorious pink comfort of my first class carriage, complete with a fabulous magazine, some homemade sweets, and a good old book.
Ah yes, speaking of good old books… It reminded me, I'm reading this amazing book called "The Secret Lives of Ballet Shoes," full of fabulous tales of dancers and all things tutu.
Of course, no trip is complete without a little shopping, especially a tutu-loving girl like me! I discovered this wonderful little boutique tucked away in a corner, with rows upon rows of the most exquisite gowns and shoes! I treated myself to a delicate pink clutch to go with my favourite tutu (which you'll all see on Instagram later today, so watch this space!)
For the night, I ended my Pinner escapade with a relaxing bath with fragrant lavender and my trusty "Tutu Handbook." If only these tutu walls could talk! Imagine the stories they could tell, about princesses, ballerinas, drag queens... and that's all just the tip of the iceberg!
