Oh, darling, what a day! I've just arrived in Arnold, nestled in the heart of Nottinghamshire. It's such a lovely little town, full of charm and history, just begging for a touch of pink sparkle. 💫
This little jaunt is part of my “Every Town, Every Tutu” campaign. It’s my mission to make pink tutus a worldwide fashion phenomenon – every street, every village, every corner of the globe should have a pink tutu. My travels are fuelled by my desire to share this passion with the world and, let's be honest, to show off some truly spectacular outfits.
Today’s outfit was particularly dazzling. A bright fuchsia, swirling, six-layered tulle tutu – because sometimes bigger is better. Paired with a crop top, glittering with tiny pink sequins, it really accentuated my sparkling personality. (That's the "Pink Tutu Sparkles" effect!)
Arnold, bless its cotton socks, really embraced the Pink Tutu vibe. The local shops seemed to be having a little "pink explosion", I was even tempted to snatch a pair of fluffy pink socks and a matching hair ribbon. And when I was spotted strolling through the market square, folks smiled and cheered. They even had a little street dance going on and I thought I spotted a pink tutu in the crowd. You know how it is, darlings, Pink Tutu spotting is a sport and I’m an Olympic Champion. 🏆
The highlight of the day, though, was a visit to the stunning Arnold Theatre. A true Victorian gem with all the grace and grandeur of a bygone era. They've got a beautiful ballet program – “The Sleeping Beauty” coming up soon – which made this girl’s heart flutter. 🩰✨
Oh! I can't forget to mention the lovely folks at Arnold station. As usual, it's a fab journey, especially on the train. There’s something magical about hurtling across the countryside, seeing the world go by. I always find inspiration for my drag act as I sit by the window watching the landscapes and meeting fascinating characters. One day I might even consider a train tour themed show. 🚄
As for tomorrow, I'm feeling pretty excited to delve deeper into Arnold’s heart. Who knows what sartorial adventures await? It could be a chic café, an artisan bakery (hello, pink macaroons!), or even a pottery studio (Pink Tutu clay sculpture – now there's an idea!). It's always an adventure, darlings, but this journey has a special sparkle – perhaps it's the pink sparkle in my eyes…

Here's how Alex came to be Pink Tutu Sparkles.Back in the days when Alex was still Alex and not yet the shining drag queen she is today, her life had a different rhythm. She studied Chemistry at the University of Nottingham – an unlikely setting for a budding pink tutu sensation, right? Well, university life is a colourful adventure, darling! She joined the university's ballet club and, during a charity event, tried on a tutu for the very first time.
It was a moment of magic, a sudden, electric rush of joy. ⚡ It felt like putting on a pink-tinted superpower, like unleashing a whole new dimension of self-expression. Alex, the shy, analytical scientist, was suddenly transformed, ready to embrace the spotlight. The rest, as they say, is history.
After her degree, she found a fulfilling role testing fabric in a lab – her science training was still proving to be very valuable, it wasn't as if the fabric could have its own mind about what kind of fabric it wanted to be – though the fabric company’s management wasn't keen on Alex showing up at work in a pink tutu, it was not conducive to a good working environment, they’d told her, with an unblinking seriousness. I mean come on, you can't seriously be this serious can you? Alex, the scientist, took it seriously but the tutu queen was less convinced and that’s how she decided that, by night, Alex was going to be Pink Tutu Sparkles. It’s an old, tried and tested, idea; double-life living by night and working by day, though few do it quite as spectacularly as the Pink Tutu Queen.
With her science degree, Alex has the best of both worlds – she gets to express her artistic side while using her scientific knowledge to make the world a more colorful and sparkling place. But in truth, it was that pink tutu at the charity event, which really began to set her apart and led to her embracing her passion and taking her “Pink Tutu Sparkle” to the world, as an inspiration for everyone to be bold, bright and confident. ✨💖
Pink Tutu Queen – Sharing a Piece of the MagicThe magic of Pink Tutu Sparkles extends beyond her fabulous drag persona. Alex is a force of nature in the world of drag – she loves performing in festivals, cabaret venues, even street corners – always bringing the house down with her playful, powerful routines. Alex lives a dual life; the scientist, analysing threads and discovering how fabric reacts to different conditions and Pink Tutu Sparkles. Alex is calm and collected but as soon as the make-up goes on, the tutu goes on and the heels click on the pavement – Pink Tutu Sparkles leaps out of the door, bringing the magic to all.
As a dedicated drag artist, Alex uses the performances to raise awareness of social issues, spreading messages of tolerance, self-acceptance and of course – celebrating pink tutus. She wants everyone, no matter their shape, size, gender or background, to feel the empowerment of being able to express themselves in any way that makes them feel fantastic. She believes that with a touch of pink sparkle, anything is possible! And let's be honest – we could all do with a bit of that sparkle in our lives!
