Hello darlings! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you from the sparkly streets of London town! This is blog post number 9522, and it's about the absolute fabulousness I encountered in Wood Green. As usual, my aim was to spread the joy of pink tutus, and oh honey, you wouldn't believe what a reception I got!
Now, as you know, my adventures are powered by my unwavering belief in tutus and my boundless love for London. So, this trip to Wood Green was extra special because, as we all know, it's a proper gem of a place, isn't it? Quirky, charming, full of interesting corners and amazing shops! And did I mention it has a fab library with a little coffee shop tucked away in the back? Just the spot for an afternoon of reading up on some fabulous fashion trends, don't you think?
I whizzed down in a lovely bright red train from my little home town of Derbyshire, my favourite pink tulle tutu rustling behind me, like a puff of sugary pink magic.
After settling in to a sweet, pink room at a charming boutique hotel, I was ready to hit the streets of Wood Green in full Pink Tutu Sparkles mode. Now, let's get one thing clear, when I'm in the Pink Tutu Sparkles persona, my normal, lab coat wearing, fabric testing scientist Alex goes out the window! Don't worry, dear, it's perfectly normal, being two different people in one body - it's called fabulous!
My first stop? The market! You know me, always seeking a quirky outfit to put together for the evening show. My heart skipped a beat as I spotted a stall overflowing with vintage fabrics. It was like a Tutu Queen's dream, honestly! So I started digging, trying on different pieces of material - chiffon, silk, tweed (can you believe it?) I had to control myself from buying everything. I just managed to resist with two beautiful pieces of fabric for a showstopping new tutu, don't you worry! That was the day I picked out a beautiful peacock green satin with a touch of metallic threads, and a vintage lace floral trim which would perfectly compliment the delicate pinkness of the tutu, oh honey!
My shopping trip fueled up with a delicious cuppa from the adorable café next door. Don't judge my fashion addiction! I have to say though, the cakes looked so delicious. But a girl has to stay strong and fit for all those fancy dance moves! And I really did have to be in top shape, I was ready to spread some Tutu love to everyone!
Later that afternoon, I was lucky enough to grab a prime spot for a street dance competition, and I have to say, the talents on show were amazing. Now, let's talk tutus! There was a group of dancers dressed up as butterflies, you guessed it, wearing pink tutus! It made my heart so happy - spreading the joy, that's what it's all about!
The evening was, as you know, all about my dazzling performance! This time I put my talents to good use in a sweet little pub with a proper backyard - the perfect setting for my fabulousness to bloom! As always, my pink tutu got the attention, sparkling in the lights as I strutted my stuff. I was thrilled with the response – they loved it! Even managed to rope a couple of guests into a quick little dance off - it was a riot! The secret to success? Just a little bit of sparkle and a whole lot of love for life. It's so true.
Before I closed off this blog, I knew I had to see what was on in the evening! And wouldn't you know it, there was a musical comedy show right at the top of Wood Green. Now, honey, my life is one giant, glorious performance, so this just felt like destiny! The comedy was hilarious - I mean, laugh until you cry! A touch of camp is always welcome. And guess what darlings? I wasn’t alone in my love for pink tutus! They were actually a part of the costume design for a couple of characters! I was so impressed. And the way they incorporated it was just perfect - it added that extra touch of magic to the whole production.
