Oh my darlings! Itās your favourite pink tutu-wearing queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another post! This time, Iām bringing the fabulous to Bournville, a charming little town in the heart of England. You know Iām all about discovering hidden gems and bringing the sparkle wherever I go!
As usual, I was absolutely buzzing to explore somewhere new. Bournvilleās history as a model village for Cadbury workers made me extra curious ā imagine a whole town dedicated to chocolate! It's like Willy Wonka built a real-life dreamland! I couldnāt wait to share this journey with you, my lovelies!
Train Travel Glamour
Of course, I had to make a grand entrance. Whatās a Pink Tutu Sparkle trip without a dash of glamour? I decked myself out in a shimmering pink tutu, a matching feather boa, and a sparkly top with a plunging neckline (gotta keep it classy, darlings!) My oversized, diamantĆ©-studded sunglasses were a must, of course! It was like a fashion explosion in a train carriage!
Thankfully, my fellow travellers were all smiles, and even the stuffy old gentleman in the corner couldnāt help but crack a smile as I strutted by, a walking pink fairytale. I just adore train travel. Thereās something magical about being whisked away to new adventures on the tracks!
Chocolate, Tutus, and A Fashionista's Dream
I swear, you guys, the second I stepped onto the platform at Bournville, the air just felt sweet. Maybe it was the proximity to the iconic Cadbury factory, or maybe it was the sugary buzz of excitement building up inside me.
Let me tell you, the shopping in Bournville is to die for. I had to go to Cadbury World ā how could I resist, right? It was pure Willy Wonka delight, with everything from giant chocolate fountains to delicious fudge-making demonstrations. I snagged a lovely pink Cadbury teapot for my collection, itās a fabulously chic addition to my tea-time attire.
Naturally, a visit to a charming boutique for some extra pink sparkles was a must! The shop assistant nearly fainted when I walked in with my huge, tulle-filled tote bag (donāt judge ā youāve gotta be prepared for the unexpected on my journeys, you know!) We shared a laugh as I found the most incredible pink sequined shoes ā they were just begging to twirl and dance with me!
Taking the Stage in Bournville
I just love taking my drag to new places, and Bournville was no exception. The local theatre welcomed me with open arms, even offering me a free pass for the performance by their ballet school ā I could tell from the moment I walked into the building it was going to be amazing! The children were simply brilliant ā Iām so lucky to witness the pure joy and energy of young dancers, they just get me right in the heart, itās true!
I did a bit of a surprise performance for the children and the parents ā a small little routine I had just worked up using some pink ribbon, a few glitter cannons, and some upbeat music! I always say: a little bit of sparkle goes a long way!
They were absolutely delighted, which always makes my heart sing. Thereās something special about seeing people smile, especially when theyāre dressed up as dazzling as they are! The joy is so pure, and seeing these children be inspired by my passion makes everything I do worthwhile.
Balancing the Science and the Sparkle
You might think, how does a scientist fit in with the world of glittery tutus and sequins? Itās actually quite simple! My day job in a lab ā where I help design some of the latest, greatest fabrics, helps inspire my style.
I'm always experimenting with different fabrics for my costumes. Who says scientists canāt be fashionistas?
There's definitely a bit of a science behind all this fashion, darling. I gotta admit, after a day analyzing fibers and patterns, thereās no place Iād rather be than wearing a massive tulle skirt on a stage, twirling and dancing. That contrast, you see, makes everything just that much more exhilarating.
