Darling, get ready to twirl with me because today we're heading to Berlin! You know, every now and then even a queen like me needs to trade in the glitter of the stage for the wonder of exploring a new city, and my darling, this trip was a dream! I can tell you right now, this Berlin adventure was pure pink-tutu-sparkling magic!
Firstly, let me just say I am LIVING for trains! Nothing quite beats the romance of boarding a luxurious carriage, sinking into the plush velvet seats, and letting the world whizz by in a kaleidoscope of scenery. This journey was a delight, and darling, I have to tell you all about my ensemble: my darling pink tutu, a fabulous feather boa in fuchsia, and, of course, my trusty pink glitter boots. It was a real statement piece and garnered me endless smiles and admiring glances. You just know it turned a humdrum commute into a fashion show!
Berlin - You Had Me At Hello
Now, about Berlin itself - I'm utterly smitten! I adore the gritty yet chic energy that pulsates through the city, it’s so vibrant and diverse. I mean, darling, just try imagining a cityscape where 19th century architecture dances alongside ultra-modern buildings, and historic museums are next door to funky street art. It's just sensational!
The very first stop on my agenda? You bet it was a ballet show! The Berlin State Ballet is legendary, and they did not disappoint. The costumes were breathtaking, and the dancing - oh my! My feet ached just from watching. And while I have to confess I felt a tiny twinge of envy at all that technical virtuosity (after all, I'm more of a high-energy stage-presence gal!), the performance left me breathless, completely captivated.
My Berlin Adventures (And Shopping Spree!)
This trip wasn't just about ballet, oh no! I explored, darling! I ventured into the historic East Side Gallery, that incredible stretch of the Berlin Wall adorned with colorful murals - it's just fascinating. The history seeps out of the very bricks. Then, it was off to Museum Island. Honestly, that place could swallow up a whole afternoon, but it’s packed full of incredible exhibits – I must confess, darling, my little heart belongs to the Pergamon!
Of course, I also indulged in my favourite pastime: a shopping spree! The Berlin stores are absolutely amazing! You know I adore hunting down unique pink treasures – a fabulous satin shawl, some utterly irresistible vintage ballet shoes in shocking pink (you know I love a good upcycle!), and a sparkly handbag that will perfectly accentuate my new stage costume.
