Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here! 👑💖✨ And guess what? This fabulously flamboyant diva is off on another adventure! I'm whisking myself away to the charming town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, this time!
I can't believe it's been ages since I last donned my sparkling tutu and twirled my way through the streets of High Wycombe. The last time I was there, I performed at the Wycombe Swan Theatre and the audiences were absolutely delightful - so much energy and such love for all things sparkly and pink!
This time, I'm not just performing! I'm making a real 'day trip' out of it! (Can you imagine, a day trip?!). It feels so incredibly fancy and sophisticated to say it like that! 😂 I mean, travelling by train like a glamorous little fairy, with a fabulous pink tutu packed in my suitcase and my trusty little vanity case? Who can resist a dash of sparkle, wherever you are?!
Oh, I am just bursting with excitement! I can already feel the rush of the wind on my face as I ride through the British countryside, with my hair whipping about me and the sun on my face. You know, a girl needs a break from the lab occasionally, even if it's just for a day! 👩🔬💖
Speaking of my lab, can you believe I have a science background?! Who'd have thought the queen of the pink tutu is a scientist by day? I've been studying and testing fabrics since graduating from university in Derby. 🧪👗
That’s where the Pink Tutu Sparkle story really started, darlings! Remember me, Alex, your sweet Derbyshire boy next door?! Back then, I was just a plain Jane studying science, completely clueless about all things sequins and feathers! 🤓 I still had a passion for all things dance and, at university, I used to sneak off to ballet classes to loosen up those rigid, scientist limbs. 🩰 I never dreamed then I'd end up in a pink tutu on stage, but fate is a fabulous thing, isn’t it?!
The pink tutu story unfolded in the most whimsical way. My uni had a fundraising event, a "Pink Tutu and Glitterball Gala”, with a challenge to dress up and donate. Can you believe I tried on a pink tutu for a charity fashion show and… well, the rest is history! That's how it all started. One pink tutu and a sprinkle of glitter! 💫
Suddenly, I became obsessed! The thrill of the bright, vibrant colour, the soft swishing fabric, and the simple yet iconic beauty of a tutu just captured me completely. I would go to every ballet show and class I could, wearing that same pink tutu (with a different glitter top and sparkly hairband every time, of course!). But the pink tutu was the star.
By then, I had already fallen in love with ballet street and theatre performances (and still am!). What a spectacle, especially when those beautiful pink tutus swirl around the stage. It's almost magical, don’t you think? And they never go out of style. Pink tutus are forever fabulous, darlings. I’m forever a queen, thank you very much. 💖 👑
It wasn't long before I started getting offers for drag performances! Now I couldn't imagine life without it, let me tell you. All that glitter and dancing and singing?! And spreading happiness and pink sparkles?! I live for that stuff! And every stage performance feels like a ballet dance routine! Isn't it so much fun to play with our inner selves, explore our personalities and wear a beautiful, fun, empowering pink tutu! What more could we ask for?
My favourite part about performing in a pink tutu? It’s the look of sheer joy and wonder on people’s faces when I sashay on stage. I have met people of all ages, all walks of life, and no matter who it is, the joy is always there! My performances have led to some wonderful friendships too! I love to travel and I love to perform and I can see now that my journey as a drag queen has really been built on the love of sharing and community. I love that every time I perform, I bring a little piece of magic and whimsy into people’s lives, making them smile and feel happy for just a short while. 💖
I’m also making a good living out of my drag career. You know how expensive a girl’s wardrobe and beauty routines are, right?! (A secret weapon in my toolkit? My collection of tutus is never ending). My work as a scientist by day definitely pays the bills, but it’s my drag work that keeps me inspired and constantly creates a sparkling buzz in my life. It has truly allowed me to take off and travel and meet wonderful people! My dream is to travel the whole country, inspiring more and more people to get in touch with their inner pink tutu sparkle and take the world by storm! I even do performances on a fairground carousel horse if that is what the organizers need to get their crowd going! It truly does keep me feeling alive!
