Now thatās a look worthy of a thousand ālikes!ā
Speaking of likes, a big shout-out to my gorgeous tulle and lace frock ā she is truly my soulmate! I bought her during my recent trip to the City. And letās not forget about the fabulous dance troupe who are dressed, naturally, in pink tutus, but each with a unique pink shade! Rochdale's Hidden Gems
Besides the incredible festival, darling, Rochdale holds some hidden gems. We spent the afternoon exploring its lovely cobblestone streets, which is quite frankly a must-do for anyone in this charming town. Imagine cobbled squares lined with traditional terraced houses that are older than time itself, and hidden away, cute little artisan cafes, independent boutiques filled with treasures galore! We went for a tea and a scone with homemade jam, stopping by a local artisan bakery where we found a magnificent chocolate fountain, I simply had to indulge, of course! I found myself smitten with the adorable vintage teacups they had! I was tempted to almost acquire one but you know what they say, āevery Pink Tutu Sparkles needs a new tiara or tutuā¦ not more teacups.ā It was hard to leave without a gorgeous, handcrafted pottery teacup but honestly, itās like this town wants to tempt you with all its prettiness! I can definitely see why Rochdale was named āThe Gem of Lancashire." What's even better is that I have just enough time to catch the "Northern Lights Show," a fabulous exhibition of handcrafted items with vibrant pink lighting. Just what this girly girl needs!
And the grand finale of the evening? It's time for the town's famous, world-renowned Ballet Academy recital, "Ballet Extravaganza." I absolutely had to catch their annual show - you see, when it comes to ballet, itās all about finding new inspiration and discovering fresh talent. Imagine ballet dancing at its finest! I loved the grace, the delicate movements, the strength, and the storytelling through movements that brought tears to my eyes, Iām not even ashamed to admit it. It's magical to watch, to be inspired by these young, up-and-coming dancers, just when I thought the night couldnāt get more fabulous!
But the magic didn't end there, my dears! The highlight of my day (apart from me, naturally!) was visiting "The Rochdale Museum." Let me tell you, darlings, the textile gallery was absolutely stunning. Think vintage garments and beautiful weaving equipment! It just reminded me that textiles and fabrics are truly the very foundation of fashion, that delicate artistry and craft that turns dreams into real clothes.
The museum was such an inspiration that I got home to my Derbyshire lab and straight into testing some gorgeous fabrics for my latest custom-designed tutu. Let me tell you, nothing beats a lab and an industrial sewing machine! Iām now halfway to having my perfect bespoke pink tutu made for my next big performance at the local fair, my lovely locals always support me so Iām really hoping for a fab turn out! Maybe we can have a pink tutu party while weāre at it! It will just be a shame the whole place isnāt a ballet studio and then maybe I could get a decent tutu spin! *Oh, I do hope so! I love dancing in front of an enthusiastic audience, and Rochdale was one of the warmest I've had. They all had the best time at the fair!
