Vienna, Oh Vienna, My Pink Tutu Has Found Its Home!

Post #1617 | 29th April, 2026 | Vienna, Austria | www.pink-tutu.com

Bonjour from Vienna! As you lovely lot know, my darling Pink Tutu and I just love to travel the globe. I’ve always dreamt of Vienna. Not only for the beautiful architecture and the charming coffee shops but for the Ballet, oh, the Ballet!

Today marks the end of my latest adventure. A trip from sunny, beautiful, Derbyshire to Austria on a magnificent train journey. I did it, ladies and gents, I travelled all the way to Vienna, in the grandest of fashions, in a full, glorious Pink Tutu, and did you know, I even sat opposite the most wonderful, pink loving lady.

From Derbyshire To Vienna... On A Pink Cloud!

After several months of saving pennies from my ballet performances (more on that later), it was time for me to hop on the train to Vienna! Imagine it... a whirlwind of tutus and tulle.

I couldn't have been more excited about my big journey. My first train adventure outside of the UK and oh, wasn't it a glorious one! I got my first cup of coffee (Vienna Style, of course) before my journey and even bought myself a pair of exquisite new pink heels to wear. They just fit the vibe, wouldn’t you agree?

After a truly remarkable experience of riding on the fastest train in the world (seriously!), the carriage arrived at a gorgeous train station - I’m talking architecture that would make even a royal blush. My mouth dropped. Then I felt that all-too-familiar fluttering feeling as my new heels clicked on the platform, the air around me buzzing with energy and a touch of magic. My darling Pink Tutu knew it. It fluttered ever so slightly, practically whispering ā€œVienna, Vienna!"

Tutus in the Austrian Air

You wouldn't believe what I discovered upon arriving at my beautiful apartment in the heart of Vienna. Turns out, I was right! Vienna does have a very special connection with Pink Tutus... well, at least it has with me.

Imagine it - me, strolling down the cobble-stoned streets, Pink Tutu in all its glory. Everyone just seems to adore it. So far I've had compliments from an elderly gent, two children, and a bunch of tourists (with one chap actually taking a photo for his blog!). This truly is the most delightful, welcoming, fashion forward place on Earth!

You all know I’m a stickler for the right colour in a city. Just like in Paris where black reigns supreme, it feels as though pink is the only acceptable shade for me in Vienna. Vienna is a land of waltz, charm, and a healthy dollop of sunshine...it's not a surprise the colour of romance and delight would be welcomed with open arms!

Where Pink Tutu Explores: The Magic of Viennese Ballet

Today, dear reader, was an exciting day. First, it was ballet class in my new dance studio (more on this glorious place tomorrow). Then I spent hours (yes, HOURS) delving into Viennese Ballet history. It was mesmerising. There's a whole theatre here called the Theater an der Wien where ballet flourished back in the 1700s! Can you believe it? The Ballet world in Vienna has a history that spans nearly 300 years and has had the most glorious ballerinas... Marie Taglioni and Anna Pavlova (both legends!) just to name a few.

But more importantly, it was time to experience what Vienna is best known for: the ballet performances! Let me tell you, darling Pink Tutu and I were absolutely blown away! Tonight's show was magical; it transported me to a fairytale land where ballerinas and princes soared through the air. Each graceful move, each elegant turn, spoke volumes. This is something you need to experience at least once in your life - oh, the passion, the strength, the talent! The Vienna State Opera just doesn’t compare to anything I've ever experienced back in England. And you won't believe the amount of tutus... so many pink ones, and they looked heavenly in the bright stage lights!

More Pink Than You Can Shake a Tutu At!

Speaking of which, Vienna's not just about Ballet, my dears! It's an absolute dream for those who enjoy the finer things, and a little bit of pink here and there.

Just this afternoon, I managed to snag myself a gorgeous pair of pink velvet shoes at the most incredible vintage shop (all while wearing, naturally, my Pink Tutu). Talk about a head-turning combination. I just had to pop a couple of photographs for my Insta-friends.

This city just oozes style. From the magnificent buildings to the chic cafes with their pastel pink pastries, everything just makes me want to whirl in my pink Tutu. I love the colour contrast of the deep chocolate brown cafes and the light pink pastries - my inner fashionista has found her new obsession. I’m absolutely smitten!

But the absolute highlight for me, dear reader, was finding a shop that specialises in… Tutu history! Yes, you heard me correctly! They have tutus from all eras - from the earliest 16th-century designs to those extravagant 20th-century beauties. The detail in every single garment is so extraordinary. I even learned the history behind some of the most iconic tutus in dance history... and guess what?! My darling pink Tutu's historical inspiration came from none other than a tutu worn by a 19th-century dancer... she's a proper beauty!

More Adventures To Come!

Tomorrow, darling Pink Tutu and I are going to venture into the Vienna Woods. And when I say ā€œventureā€ I really do mean ā€œventureā€! We’re going to spend the morning galloping around in the stunning scenery on a glorious, pink-hued horse. A dream come true.

Until next time, my dears, stay twirling and stay stylish. Until Wednesday!
