Vienna, Vienna, Waltz Me Away! (Blog Post #1620)

Hello my lovely Tutu Twirlers! 🩰

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another adventure from your favourite pink tutu-wearing traveller. This week, I'm waltzing my way through the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria! I've always dreamed of visiting this charming city, known for its imperial history, stunning architecture, and of course, its legendary waltz music! And you know what else I'm excited about? Vienna has a vibrant ballet scene - oh, the tutus I'm going to see!

Now, let me tell you a little secret: getting here was an absolute dream! I took a train from Derbyshire, winding my way through the stunning countryside. I love the romance of train travel, especially when it’s a journey through picturesque landscapes. I even had a chance to stop by a quaint village and ride a beautiful chestnut horse. Can you imagine, a horse and carriage through rolling green fields? Pure fairytale stuff!

Anyway, back to Vienna! My first impression was pure delight. I found myself instantly charmed by the old-world elegance, the grand buildings adorned with intricate details, the bustling street cafes with their delicious pastries, and the sound of Viennese waltz music filling the air. It felt like stepping into a movie!

Pink-tastic Adventures in Vienna

The first stop on my Vienna itinerary had to be the magnificent Schönbrunn Palace. You just can't come to Vienna and not visit the former summer residence of the Habsburg emperors. I had a blast exploring the lavish halls, admiring the beautiful gardens, and pretending I was a princess waltzing through the grand ballrooms (with a little pink tutu, of course!). I even tried on some lovely period gowns – very exciting!

Vienna is bursting with fabulous museums. But today, I decided to pay homage to my true love: ballet. I headed to the Vienna State Opera, a truly iconic venue, and took a behind-the-scenes tour. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the building and to see the amazing costumes, props and stage designs. Imagine all the stunning performances that have graced this stage over the centuries!

My visit wouldn't have been complete without experiencing a Viennese waltz, so I signed up for a dance class. It was surprisingly fun, even though I have two left feet! (Well, two right feet, if you know what I mean 😉) But even my clumsy attempts made me feel elegant and graceful, and that's what matters! We even had a mini-ball afterwards, with waltzing and cake, just like they used to in the old days. It was the perfect way to end a truly unforgettable day.

Speaking of unforgettable, I've already started my ballet-themed shopping spree. The streets of Vienna are overflowing with adorable shops selling beautiful, ballerina-inspired pieces. I found a stunning pink tutu dress, with delicate embroidery and a gorgeous, flowing skirt. Oh, and let’s not forget the endless rows of shoes! I am officially smitten with Vienna! I think this is my new favourite city!

Sharing the Pink Tutu Love

One thing I've learned on my travels is that the world loves tutus just as much as I do! I've encountered many people who have expressed a similar adoration for these beautiful and whimsical garments. It's been a wonderful experience to see others embrace their inner ballerina and twirl around in joy.

So, my dearest readers, I'm urging you to embrace your inner ballerina too. Go for it! Don your pink tutus and spread the love of dancing and whimsical fun. You never know who you might inspire. We can make this world a little brighter, one twirl at a time!

And speaking of inspiration, I have a fun challenge for all you tutu twirlers. Share photos of yourselves in your favourite pink tutus on social media with the hashtag #PinkTutuVienna. We can create a giant pink tutu wave all across the globe!

Until next time, my dears! Happy twirling, and keep on spreading the pink tutu joy!

Love,

Emma xoxo
