Hello my darling darlings!
It's Wednesday, the 24th of November, and you know what that means - another week, another fabulous Pink Tutu World blog post! As usual, my mind is bursting with all things twirling and twirly, with my darling pink tutu constantly reminding me of the joy of a good leap, a perfect pirouette, and the sheer fabulousness of the universe. Today, I want to tell you about a simply magical experience I had here on good old Planet Earth. You see, while you lot were busy with your everyday things - making sure the dishwasher was unloaded, picking up your kids' shoes, that kind of thing - I was venturing out amongst the stars.
Yes, my darlings, I've been travelling! This time, not by spaceship, oh no, this time it was a grand tour across this delightful planet, Planet Earth. And let me tell you, it was a real eye-opener! I took a deep dive into the human world and experienced it all - from the bustle of London, to the rugged beauty of the Scottish Highlands, I took it all in. I went to museums and looked at art, strolled down Oxford Street looking for a perfect new pair of pink stilettos (you can never have too many, my darlings!) and, of course, took a full immersion into the world of ballet.
Ballet on Planet Earth
Oh, how I love ballet here! You wouldn't believe how many gorgeous ballets they've got on show in the theatres. They don't all feature my beloved tutus, I'm sad to say, but they have amazing dancing and such creative costumes! This trip was an absolute ballet bonanza.
First up, I went to the Royal Opera House, darling! You just have to visit if you ever find yourself in London. The place is so elegant, you just want to prance about and throw your arms around in a grand jeté. I saw 'The Nutcracker' and you'll never believe what the lead ballerina wore: a crimson-coloured tutu with a whole scattering of crystal snowflakes! Just heavenly!
The dancers at the Royal Ballet were simply amazing - I can’t tell you how envious I am that I’m not part of their company! I found myself thinking, "Is there any room for a lovely pink tutu wearer?" (Maybe they could change their colour scheme a little? Just sayin'). But I digress.
Later in my tour, I took in a performance by a local company in Derbyshire. They were wonderful! I mean, not Royal Ballet calibre, of course, but a wonderful community theatre. You know how much I adore seeing the sheer passion and love these performers pour into every movement. I nearly cried at the end when they took their bow. A wonderful night for a pink tutu to twirl in, you could say.
Fashion and Shopping Galore!
So, obviously, with all the travelling I did, there was an opportunity for a little shopping, which I absolutely indulged in! Planet Earth has some absolutely gorgeous stores and boutiques! Let's be real, the fashion here can be pretty avant-garde and bizarre. But, if you look around enough, you can find real gems - some gorgeous designer clothes and stunning pink tutus, though not quite so pink as my usual style! I found the most magnificent hot pink dress that was so flamboyant it just screamed 'dance!'
And for shoes, darling! Oh, the shoes! My heart nearly jumped out of my chest in some of the shoe stores - enough sparkle to dazzle even the most seasoned glitter queen! I've even begun collecting ballet shoes from different places on Earth - I hope to build up a really good collection. So, the next time you come to Derbyshire, feel free to visit me - I'd love to show you my ballet shoe collection. It’s quite a thing, I can tell you!
Sharing my love for pink tutus!
One of the things I truly love about travelling is sharing the love of pink tutus. On my travels I always make sure to talk to as many people as I can. "Did you know," I told one sweet lady in Edinburgh, "that pink tutus originated in Italy in the 15th century?" And they don’t believe me! Well, they sort of smile politely and then go on their merry way, but it's all part of spreading the word, my darling! The important thing is to try!
And speaking of spreading the word, this is my 500th Planet Earth blog post, darlings! You really are the most supportive and incredible readers a tutu could ask for. I simply can’t believe it’s been 500 posts since I started writing here on Pink Tutu World! What an adventure it has been! Thank you for all your love and encouragement!
I want you to know that, although I am quite fond of the stars and traveling in my spaceship, nothing can beat good old planet Earth and the joys of a dance performance. It’s just simply magical to share in the excitement with all of you, even when it’s happening right here on my own little patch of earth.
And don't forget my lovely darlings - you can join me on my journey of sharing the love of tutus across the universe!
Until next Wednesday, keep on twirling!
Emma, the Pink Tutu World Ballerina
