Pink Tutu World - Planet Earth Blog - Post #765

Wednesday 23rd December 2009

Darling readers,

Well, hello there! Welcome to another edition of my little corner of the universe - Pink Tutu World! As always, it's fabulous to be back on Planet Earth for a bit. I must say, I'm feeling rather chipper today. Not only is it a lovely December day, with a bit of a nip in the air but also, Christmas is just around the corner, which just means one thing… shopping! 🛍️

I'm actually still wearing my stunning, shimmering pink tutu from the grand ballet premiere of “The Nutcracker” last night! It was absolutely breathtaking, from the set to the choreography, and let’s not forget the tutus! There were so many glorious tutus in every colour and shade imaginable, but darling, nothing quite compares to the fabulous pink tutus that lit up the stage. 💖 And yes, I may have indulged in a bit of shopping post-performance – can't a girl treat herself to a little something special after such an amazing show?

Anyway, you might be wondering what my darling readers, what my travels have been like this past week, since we last saw each other, eh? Well, let me tell you…

Intergalactic Travel: Ballet on a Cosmic Scale!

As many of you know, I have a particular penchant for traveling… to far-off planets, of course. 🚀

This past week, I found myself in the most glamorous corner of the Orion nebula – what a stunning location! The nebulous clouds formed this most magnificent stage, and let me tell you, you could practically see the galaxies sparkle on their own. Absolutely breathtaking. But let’s get to the good bit – the show. The stellar dance crew of the Orion nebula put on a performance you would die for, my darling readers. They wore absolutely fantastic tutus that danced in the galactic winds and lit up the nebulae.

What I love about travelling is finding amazing local traditions, especially in terms of dress, and you see the best of that on Orion. It really is the ultimate spot for tutus, with everything from classic pink tutus, perfect for the sweet celestial ballerinas to glittery cosmic silver tutus - so beautiful they shimmered with the light of the stars.

There were so many breathtaking dances performed on stage. But I particularly loved the "Comet Waltz," in which the dancers created stunning streaks across the nebula, a visual marvel for the entire audience - myself included. 💖 The dance was utterly hypnotic. Just the image of these magnificent, cosmic dancers, spinning in beautiful, silver tutus - simply unforgettable! It reminded me so much of my beloved Derbyshere - we all have to embrace our origins you see!

Tutu Talk: My Favourite Tutu Spot

You know, my dears, I can’t travel the galaxy, or even go to London or Birmingham without thinking about where to find my tutu fix. That’s where my blog really comes in handy, because it’s a place where we can discuss this together, right? Well this week’s spotlight on all things tutu goes to the dazzling ballet company "Nova's Ballet," based on Kepler-452b! They have just opened up their own bespoke tutu design house, and I have to tell you - the most exquisite collection of tutus I have ever seen, and that's saying something, my lovelies! The details and quality of the tutus there are just top tier, simply out of this world, literally! And, of course, there are loads of pink tutus, I mean, what’s life without a bit of pink! 💖 But it doesn't just stop there - you can even get personalized tutus to match your favourite nebula! It is absolute perfection, my darlings, a real dream for any tutu-lover.

They even have an amazing section on tutu history. It’s absolutely fantastic to see how tutus have developed through time, how tutu-wearing became such a global trend! Imagine if there was no tutu fashion - the horrors! 😉 The collection included historical garments that had travelled through the universe for centuries and the colours - wow, just WOW. My dear reader, I had to spend a whole hour in that tutu heaven, picking out my very special piece of history. 💖

Speaking of history - a very special ballet performance has caught my eye here on earth! And I just had to share it with all of you.

A Peek Into Planet Earth's Dance History - "The Nutcracker"!

As many of you know, I love planet Earth dearly! 🌍 And here in the U.K. we have such a rich and colourful dance scene. It truly has some of the world's most phenomenal dancers, ballerinas, and of course, tutus! As I mentioned earlier, this week's highlight for me, on my planet Earth adventure has definitely been the performance of "The Nutcracker" by The Royal Ballet!

Oh, my darlings, I just adore The Nutcracker. It’s a festive, wonderful, beautiful tale and, you just can't get enough of it during the Christmas period! I don't think it ever fails to bring me joy - it just has this incredible magical element. Maybe it's because it features all of the gorgeous classical ballet moves. You know, I think that, maybe it’s because I absolutely LOVE dancing in my tutu, or perhaps it’s the magic that unfolds throughout the whole story – you really do believe in miracles. 💖

As I’ve been traveling the galaxies, it has given me so much more perspective on how much the ballet world here on planet Earth is evolving. The tutus for the dancers of "The Nutcracker" are exquisite, my darlings. They are so detailed and perfect and every piece is just like a beautiful work of art. It is just incredible!

From the moment the music starts playing to the second the curtain falls, I find myself totally enthralled. I just get lost in the music and movement and all of the magic that comes from watching these absolutely stunning dancers - with those heavenly tutus, just spinning and twirling. 🤩 And that brings me to a very special piece that has got to have some major “tutu-factor.”

Spotlight: My All-Time Favourite Tutu from "The Nutcracker"!

The ballet costume for the character, "Clara" is just a classic. I love its elegant and feminine style. From the elegant pink shoes, all the way to the flowing satin fabric, and oh, those perfect, delicate ribbons, tied together into a delicate little bow. What is a tutu without a perfect bow after all? 🎀 But my darling readers, the “must-have" piece of this outfit is the absolutely stunning pink tutu, the centerpiece! It is so gorgeous and soft and absolutely delicate – my heart just melts for its gracefulness. Just perfect!

In all the shows, I think I’m going to get myself some delicious cupcakes. This might have been my 10th viewing of “The Nutcracker” - my darling readers - who doesn’t love a little indulgence over the Christmas period?! 💖

Speaking of cupcakes… there’s another fantastic place here on Earth, my darling readers - a shop with a name as glamorous as a pink tutu – “Tutus & Cupcakes” on Bond Street! Now you might think that sounds odd, but my love, it just makes so much sense - cupcakes and tutus? What could be more heavenly? It has the absolute sweetest cakes and they serve the most amazing afternoon tea – the only one you need, especially when shopping for gorgeous new tutus! 😍 I even saw this little girl at a ballet studio nearby trying to design her very own tutu - absolutely adorable! The world needs more tutus, even if it’s for imagination and for a spot of afternoon tea! It reminded me so much of when I started ballet in Derbyshere - and the fun it is. I know you probably get bored of my Derby stories my lovelies, but they're so precious!

My Pink Tutu Promise for the Year Ahead

So, as the year draws to a close, I can't help but reflect on how much this amazing journey across the cosmos has been a total joy. From the spectacular displays in the nebulae, to the breathtaking tutus found in distant galaxies, to the simple delight of ballet here on Earth… every adventure has shown me how magical the universe can truly be!

My promise for the year ahead is simple: to continue exploring all that this incredible universe has to offer - to keep spreading the magic of the pink tutu and inspire a new generation of tutu-lovers wherever I go. 💫

For now, it’s time to grab some snacks and relax by the fireplace as the holidays are drawing near - and what is more relaxing that a warm cuppa and a good book about ballet? ☕️📚 But, I'll be back next week with more intergalactic adventures - I’m currently on my way to Andromeda to visit the " Andromeda's Starlight Ballerinas." They've got their own show running, “Ballet Under the Stars”, that I have just heard is breathtaking - especially when performed under the real Andromeda Galaxy, my love! 💖

Until next Wednesday my lovely darlings, I wish you the most fabulous festive season filled with glittery sparkles, endless laughs, and sparkling, pink tutus!

Until next time,

Emma 💕
