Pink Tutu World: Planet Earth, 2016-03-02 (Post #1088)

Darling readers,

Hello, hello! Another Wednesday, another fabulously exciting adventure from your favourite pink-tutu-clad, intergalactic space traveller!

I'm writing to you today from… well, drumroll please… Planet Earth! It's always a thrill to return to the home planet, and especially this week as there’s such a plethora of absolutely divine ballet-related activities taking place in my old stomping grounds of Derbyshire, England. (Don’t worry, darling, my trusty spaceship, the Twirling Star, is parked up nicely and ready for a quick hop back to the Andromeda Galaxy come Friday!).

Today I’m feeling a touch of nostalgia. It's so much fun to come back and see all the things I've missed, even if they sometimes seem a tad... basic compared to what I’ve been experiencing lately in other galaxies! But there's a reason why I love to explore the cosmos: it makes me appreciate the planet that birthed my love of all things tutu, ballet and… you guessed it… PINK!

The Spritual Ballet of Derbyshire!

This week’s trip is all about rediscovering the roots of my pink-tutu passion! I've been hopping between several truly splendid events that made my ballet heart flutter like a swan's wings. I can't tell you all of them (hush, it’s top secret!), but I can share some little tidbits!

First up: the Derbyshire Ballet Association’s annual fundraiser! Oh, my darling! You can just imagine the glorious spectacle! My fellow dance enthusiasts and I enjoyed a delightful evening of classical ballet, contemporary choreography, delectable cocktails, tantalising finger-foods, and most importantly… a live auction for a pink tutu handcrafted by me, myself and I! Naturally, the winning bid was generously donated to support local dance education programmes – because giving back to the ballet world is always the most delightful kind of shopping!

But, the best part? I had the privilege of participating in the fundraiser by performing a mini ballet recital – my first in a very long time. Imagine the joy of the little dancers’ eyes – I think I might have inspired them to pursue intergalactic dance adventures themselves! I’ll take any amount of pink tutu inspired budding astronauts as a huge, glorious win.

The History of Ballet…

As you know, I adore a bit of historical context – it makes me appreciate ballet and the Pink Tutu World I create so much more! So, of course, I’ve been diving into some research and enjoying local history during my visit. There’s a charming little museum in the town of Matlock, showcasing all the local ballet companies. And I'll admit, it’s quite a whirlwind when you’re a ballet historian trying to stay up to date with intergalactic trends while reminiscing about earth's own theatrical legacy. It can get a little dizzying, especially with my fabulous, ever-swirling pink tutu! But so much fun!

Of course, no trip to Earth would be complete without a spot of ballet shopping, so I headed to the charming city of Chesterfield to visit the local ballet shop - where, of course, they were completely lacking any pink tutus for a fellow pink-tutu lover and space traveller to browse! Luckily for them, I had brought my own pink tutu collection! I just love to inspire the folks back on Earth. You wouldn't believe some of the amazing pink-tutu creations I found: whimsical tulle that twirled beautifully, iridescent fabrics that glowed in the light, and bejeweled accents fit for a queen of the cosmos. It felt like I’d been transported back to my very own Pink Tutu Paradise!

The locals loved them all, I promise! They even tried to talk me into a little performance. What fun we had! I love giving impromptu Pink Tutu lessons! It's my calling to *empower and inspire every person on every planet to embrace the wonder and the joy that the perfect pink tutu can bring. You really cannot go wrong, ladies. After all, what’s better than swirling pink tulle and fabulous, ballet inspired shopping? Not much, darlings. Not much.

Fashion in the Cosmos, Darling!

And speaking of fashion, the planet Earth has definitely got its own unique flair, with a mix of the earthy (the trend of incorporating the colours of mother earth in outfits...very creative but… well… not quite as vibrant and daring as a little black dress with a sparkly pink tutu, don’t you think?) the futuristic, the boho, and... the occasional pink-tutu trend that really does give me hope for the future of Earth’s fashion world! It’s so nice to see pink tutus making their way from ballet stages onto high street stores and the boutiques! The universe is indeed catching on to the wonderful pink tutu vibes! Perhaps one day, my Pink Tutu World will be all around…

And if you think I haven't been taking fashion notes in the galaxy, think again! My last stop on my tour of Planet Earth will be the grand finale: the London Fashion Week - oh my goodness, darling! Fashion at its finest! But fashion isn't only about looking fabulous, it's also about expressing yourself, spreading joy, and maybe, just maybe, even starting a revolution!

So stay tuned, darlings! In next week's blog, I’ll be bringing you a pink-tutu filled review of London Fashion Week! I promise *flashes of inspiration from tulle and sequins galore. Oh, it will be truly spectacular!

For now, don't forget: the best way to stay in tune with your inner-pink-tutu is to let your love of dance shine. Keep twirling, keep believing in your dreams, and never stop dancing!, because who knows what wonders await you? Until next week, keep sparkling, my darlings!

With love,

Emma

XOXO
