Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth, Post #1241 (06/02/2019)

Darling darlings! 🩰 It's Emma here, back from another intergalactic adventure, and just landed back on Planet Earth! This week, my space travels took me to some absolutely fabulous places, from a dazzling display of Northern Lights in Iceland to a grand Parisian opera house with a truly spectacular performance of "Swan Lake" - what a show! My Tutu has seen some sights!

Speaking of "Swan Lake", did you know that this week, on 06/02/2019, is the anniversary of the very first performance of "Swan Lake"? It premiered in Moscow in 1877, and to think, nearly 150 years later, the world still holds its breath at its captivating tale and iconic choreography.

Now, back to my adventures!

This trip's theme was ballet - can you tell? And of course, I wore a different pink tutu for each performance and for each sight! Because as you all know, dear reader, life is just far too short for drab colours!

Firstly, we touched down in Iceland, just as the Aurora Borealis was dancing across the sky. Honestly, darling, the beauty of it was breathtaking. I was in awe of the shimmering green, blue and purple lights and their magical, twirling movements. They danced just like a celestial ballerina in her grand ballet dress, didn't they? We actually managed to grab a hot-air balloon ride for a truly fabulous view of the celestial spectacle!

Icelandic people are charming, you know. We saw such incredible scenery - volcanoes, geysers, glaciers. It's such a surreal place! Oh, and speaking of scenery, the colours there! Just wait till you see what I found! The cutest little pink knitted jumpers in Reykjavik - they were calling my name!

Next stop was Paris. Now, Paris, as always, was oh la la, darling! The fashion was chic, the atmosphere electric and of course, I did some exquisite window-shopping! They're definitely leading the fashion scene with such elegance, aren't they? My goodness, the French always know how to create an air about them!

Speaking of air, I must tell you, the performance of "Swan Lake" was incredible! I was transported into a fairytale world! I mean, it wasn't all about Swan Lake! I actually bumped into an old friend, Beatrice! Do you remember, she was the dancer in a red and blue Tutu at last week's show on that lovely little purple planet, Xana. Now, you can see Beatrice, her husband and a couple of their adorable puppies on the planet Earth too. We all popped over for a few lovely afternoon tea at the Dorchester hotel (my treat, of course) where they gave me an exquisite Parisian handbag! Now isn’t that wonderful! I absolutely adored the ballet itself. The choreography was masterful, and the dancers' graceful movements truly encapsulated the tragedy and love that the story tells. Not to mention, I saw several members of the audience weeping! How utterly dramatic, but in such a beautiful way!

And the Parisian atmosphere! It just has that 'je ne sais quoi', doesn't it? The aroma of freshly baked croissants on the street...oh, darling, it just made my day!

Of course, my pink tutu for the Parisian occasion was utterly chic, darling. You've just got to look elegant for ballet in Paris. And it was such an occasion for a beautiful pink ballerina to enjoy the perfect Parisian "Swan Lake"

Oh, speaking of Swan Lake, how do I look in my pink tutu with the iconic swan's feather design in black and white? Just look at my photo post, which you can see right here. Yes, it is an exciting outfit for all of those swan lakes to see - but don't take my word for it, tell me your thoughts!

So much more to see, darling. Don't forget to catch me this weekend! I am planning an interview on the spaceship for my weekly Wednesday Planet Earth blog for www.pink-tutu.com - just to keep up-to-date with you all! As always, keep watching, stay sparkling and, above all, remember that the most beautiful dance is the one you create.

And now, my dears, I must away! There are tutus to be worn, and worlds to explore! And hopefully, I can bring you with me, every step of the way.

Until next time, Emma xoxo
