Pink Tutu World: Ballet on Planet Earth - Blog Post #1342

Hello my darlings! It's Wednesday again, which means it's time for another post on the fabulous world of Pink Tutu! Welcome back, or hello if this is your first visit! Isn't this the most amazing thing, all these planets in the universe? We truly do live in an age of wonder. This week I’ve been dreaming of Planet Earth! Oh how I've missed the atmosphere, and those big fluffy white clouds! It felt like forever since my last trip. Just last week I was whisked away to Jupiter - you've got to check out their fab red spot and those stunning cloud patterns! - But Earth is my heart, you know, my real love, where my love for pink tutus started. I was lucky enough to be born there in the quaint countryside of Derbyshire. As soon as I could walk, my parents (who still don't know that I travel the universe - don't tell them!) said I was always leaping and twirling - who knew this love for ballet and twirling was destined for the stars? Planet Earth was my dance floor.

So! I know you’ve been asking for more earth-based stuff! - and today’s blog post is dedicated to Planet Earth and my recent trip back to visit. After Jupiter, my second-favourite place to visit in the universe is planet Earth and I'm thrilled to have landed back in the U.K.! - London this time!

Ballet Inspiration

Did I tell you how much I adore Planet Earth? Seriously, from the history to the incredible landscape - that’s why I went to see The Lord of the Rings at the London Coliseum, oh I tell you, it’s an iconic building and a stunning place for a show. They’ve even got a very pretty grand chandelier - very princessy! - and then of course the performance! I’ve got to say it again – these Earthlings do incredible ballet! It’s always breathtaking.

I know you guys might not believe me (it’s the classic Pink Tutu problem - who can believe it’s really possible, except my Pink Tutu readers, of course! ), but you’ve got to believe me - these shows are so magical, the storytelling, the passion for the craft - truly inspiring! - I mean, you think about all that’s happening around you! The Lord of the Rings - all of that storytelling. All that dramatic staging, the choreography - pure brilliance! You can see they put their heart and soul into the performance. After my London sojourn, I also got to go to some wonderful workshops - with the lovely Anna. She's really lovely. Anna taught us a really lovely piece by Marius Petipa – an old friend of the ballet - well a historical friend! - from ages ago in Earth years. It was really stunning. She told me it was a big hit at the Royal Opera House. And do you know something - a few days later I watched La Bayadere by the same creator at the Royal Opera House in London!

London: The Fashion Capital of the Universe

I'm absolutely convinced, Planet Earth, London is the fashion capital of the universe. Of course, if you ask my parents, they would argue and say London's more known for its politics, museums, palaces. But who cares what these Earthly beings know, I can tell you London is an incredible place to shop. As the Queen always says “What I like I just take, what I dislike, I take.” That’s Queen Victoria, if you haven't guessed by now. Planet Earth was my favourite spot to find a sparkly dress or find the latest fashion, and London is the place! You know my motto “Shop the Universe. Tutu, Twirl, Explore!” London just screams this at you.

I can honestly tell you, it’s all just what I needed to see, it made me wish I could bring it back to the Pink Tutu galaxy - although I suppose that’s rather impractical – a spaceship wouldn’t be very efficient in all that retail therapy! But just think - if we all bought the things we like, then all those things must be useful for something right?

I love the bright red London buses with all the colourful graffiti everywhere - you have to visit Kings Road to get all that cool alternative art. And those amazing shoe shops! It felt like I was on an art show from a Pink Tutu galaxy fashion show - with my love for all things glitter, gold, sequins. Every fashion trend that Planet Earth can offer you’ll find it there!
