Today's post is a little bit extra special, as it's #1521 in the #PinkTutuBlogLondon series! I can't believe it's been so long since I started this journey, sharing my love for all things pink, ballet, and fashion with you lovely lot. 💕
So, this Friday, I embarked on a magical journey from my home in Derbyshire, England, to the dazzling capital. As always, I travelled by train, surrounded by my favourite travel companions: a copy of The Nutcracker, my trusty tutu-filled bag (because a girl can never have too many!), and a playlist bursting with music that makes me want to twirl.
From Station to Stage
Arriving at London Euston station felt like stepping into a fairytale! The towering architecture, the bustling energy, the sheer excitement of being in London, it always gets me pumped! My outfit was, of course, totally on point - a blush pink tutu with a shimmering silver bodice, paired with delicate ballerina flats and a playful pink satchel. A little pink sparkle in the midst of the London crowds never fails to bring a smile to my face, and you just never know who might be inspired to unleash their inner tutu-wearer! 💃
First on my London itinerary was a trip to the glorious Royal Opera House. I always make a point of catching a performance when I'm in town. This time around, I was treated to a captivating performance of Swan Lake. I always find the way Tchaikovsky’s music takes me on a whirlwind of emotions, and watching the graceful dancers glide across the stage was truly spellbinding. I might have shed a tear or two, but don't worry, I wiped them away with a delicate pink handkerchief, because even when moved by the beauty of art, I never let go of the fabulous!
Fashion & Foodie Delights
No trip to London would be complete without a bit of retail therapy! My trusty tutu-filled bag was already brimming with treasures, but my insatiable appetite for finding the most fabulous pieces had to be satisfied! This time, I made a beeline for the chic boutiques in Knightsbridge. I stumbled upon a beautiful pastel pink vintage silk scarf in a hidden treasure trove of a shop. Of course, I had to have it! Can't you just imagine it with my pink tutu, perfectly cascading around my neck? Perfection! 🧣
After a whirlwind of shopping, I rewarded myself with a delightful lunch in a quaint little café, nestled away in a charming side street. Their pink lemonade was simply divine! And to make my pink dreams complete, I opted for a raspberry macaroon - truly the perfect marriage of taste and pink-ness! 🍰
Pinktastic Views & Evening Adventures
To digest all that fabulousness, I headed up to the top of the London Eye. The panoramic view was simply breathtaking, with the iconic landmarks bathed in the golden light of the afternoon sun. And of course, with my pink tutu billowing in the gentle breeze, I managed to capture a few photos worthy of a #PinkTutuBlogLondon post! 🤩
My final London stop was the iconic National Theatre. I had tickets to a breathtaking performance of a brand new ballet. You can bet my tutu was in attendance, swaying in rhythm to the music and applauding each impressive move with gusto. The power of dance always inspires me. Sometimes, I wish I could step onto the stage myself and just let loose. Maybe someday! 😉
As I boarded the train back to Derbyshire, feeling inspired and a little bit pinkly sparkly, I couldn’t help but think about how lucky I am to be able to travel and experience life's little wonders. London never fails to leave me breathless and brimming with excitement! I know that every week brings a new opportunity for an adventure, and I can’t wait to share my next pinktastic escapade with you all.
