Pink Tutu Milan #1691: From Derbyshire to Milan with a Pink Tutu in Tow! ???

Hello my darling tutulettes! ? Emma here, reporting live from the fashion capital of the world – Milan! ?? Yes, believe it or not, I've swapped the rolling hills of Derbyshire for the cobbled streets of Milan, and it's as magical as you'd imagine. ✨

It feels surreal to be here. This week, I'm channeling my inner fashionista and embracing all things glamorous in this incredible city. And what better way to explore than with my trusty pink tutu, naturally! ?

It’s Wednesday, and I’ve just finished a delightful morning ballet class at the Teatro alla Scala. (Just picture the grandness of it all – think chandelier, opulent red velvet seats and exquisite detail). The class was full of energy and passion, the dancers so graceful and skilled. And I managed to slip in a pirouette or two, too, (always trying to keep those ballet skills sharp!). ?

Speaking of magic, have I told you about my latest ballet discovery? I caught a phenomenal performance of Giselle at Teatro alla Scala last night. My breath was literally taken away. The costumes, the music, the choreography – just exquisite. It made me want to spin and twirl till dawn. The feeling of ballet in a theatre that’s steeped in history just takes you back to a simpler time, full of elegance, artistry, and the beauty of human movement.

But it’s not just the ballet that’s capturing my heart here in Milan. This city truly embraces all things beautiful and chic. Today, I’m on a mission to discover Milan’s secret vintage shops. Imagine – treasures waiting to be unearthed! Maybe even some glorious silk scarves and sparkling accessories, just perfect for my next ballet performance. ?

Speaking of performances, the joy of travelling with my tutu is seeing how it brings a little sparkle wherever I go. From hopping on the tram to visiting historic piazzas, a dash of pink tutu is enough to brighten up anyone’s day! ? I mean, who doesn’t love a little extra twirl in their life?

It wouldn't be a trip to Milan without indulging in the city's amazing food culture, of course! I've already been to the most adorable café nestled amongst cobbled streets, serving the most delicious, authentic tiramisu (yes, I already had two scoops – don't judge!). My favourite spot, however, has to be the little park next to the Duomo, where I like to people-watch, relax, and enjoy my Italian cappuccino. It’s the perfect setting for catching up on some blog writing, too! (This very post, for instance!) ☕️

But for a dancer, Milan offers something even more special. This is a city that’s bursting with inspiration. It's not just the famous Teatro alla Scala or the incredible ballet schools, it’s the energy of the people, their fashion sense, and the vibrant cultural life that surrounds them. Even the walk to a ballet class here feels like an exciting journey. It’s something that keeps you constantly on your toes – pun intended!

And just so you know, my trip to Milan wouldn’t have been possible without my recent performances in Derbyshire. It was incredible to connect with my audience and dance for such wonderful people! It’s through performances like those that I manage to fund my travel adventures, keeping the tutu dream alive! ?

Now, before I head off for an afternoon exploring Milan’s fabulous fashion houses, let me remind you – never let anyone tell you to take off your pink tutu. Whether you're on a bustling Italian street or taking centre stage, remember that true confidence and joy comes from embracing your own personal style. ?

So go on, embrace your inner pink tutu! ✨ Let me know your favourite ballet-themed outfits in the comments below! And stay tuned for more of my Milan adventures next week on www.pink-tutu.com. ???

Yours in pink, Emma ?
