Hey gorgeous girly girls! 🩰 It's your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger Emma, reporting live from the concrete jungle – New York City! 🗽 It's a Monday, which means it's Pink Tutu Blog NYC time, and I'm brimming with excitement for the week ahead. ✨
This past weekend was a whirlwind of ballet, fashion, and delicious treats! 🧁 Remember how I told you about my upcoming tour of the US, performing in several prestigious theatres? Well, New York was the first stop, and oh, my darlings, it was simply magical! ✨
I touched down on Friday, the city lights twinkling like a million pink sequins under a velvet sky. 🌃 I checked into my darling little hotel - think French chic meets girly glamour, all in shades of blush pink, of course! 💖 The minute I saw the bathtub, I knew I had to snap a picture for my Instagram stories. (Don't worry, I haven't forgotten my trusty pink flamingo rubber ducky - he's the perfect co-star for any bathroom selfie! 🦩)
After a quick freshen up, I hopped on the metro – New York's fabulous underground train system. Remember those iconic subway posters? You know, the ones with the bold text screaming, "I ♥ NY?" Well, let me tell you, I was shouting it from the rooftops, tutu and all! 🎉
First stop: the theatre district. 🎭 I was absolutely giddy to see "Wicked" - you simply have to experience the incredible costumes and magical performances. They are out of this world! 💖 And those emerald green costumes? Simply stunning. 🤩 I swear, the little girl inside me gasped with delight when Elphaba's green shoes twirled on stage! 👠
After the show, it was time for a much-needed shopping spree. You know how much I adore discovering new boutiques and independent designers, and New York is a veritable haven for all things chic! 💕 I spent a few hours wandering the trendy streets of SoHo, and I simply had to purchase the most adorable blush-pink knitted cardigan I've ever seen! 🎀
I knew I had to grab a quick bite before catching the late night metro home. The most adorable French bistro called 'La Petite Fleur' beckoned me with its charming rose-covered exterior and oh-so-sweet window display. You can't deny the pull of a delicately made croque monsieur, can you? 🥪
Back at the hotel, my head filled with the day's excitement and my heart overflowing with gratitude for the chance to be here, I slipped into my favourite blush-pink silk nightie. (A girl can never have too many pink outfits!) And with a quick glance at my trusty pink fluffy slippers (yes, I wear them even at night!), I dreamt of what magical moments New York would bring the following day. 😴
Saturday dawned bright and sunny, and I knew exactly where I wanted to start my day: The Ballet Society. 💖 It's a legendary studio in the heart of Manhattan, renowned for its stellar faculty and inspiring atmosphere. You can just imagine the swirling tutus, the hushed whispers of dance moves, and the soft click of shoes on the wooden floor - a true ballet haven! 🩰
I had the honour of joining a master class with Ms. Annabelle, a world-famous prima ballerina. She's truly a legend! I absolutely adore her approach to dance. It's all about finding beauty in movement and making it your own. (And she's got the most beautiful, intricate pink ballet shoes!) I swear, every time I watched her dance, I felt the spark of a thousand fireflies inside me! ✨
After the class, I grabbed a decadent lunch with a friend who happens to be a fellow ballet enthusiast. We devoured an afternoon tea set - tiny finger sandwiches, perfectly-baked scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a delightful selection of petit fours! (It wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Blog NYC entry without at least one mention of sweets! 😋)
And in true fashionista style, we continued our day with a jaunt to the legendary Bloomingdale's. Every season, their window displays are simply breathtaking, and this summer's theme was all about celebrating colourful prints, vibrant hues, and feminine silhouettes - perfect for a Pink Tutu girl, wouldn't you say? 🎀
In the evening, I donned a gorgeous sequined dress, the shade of a shimmering twilight sky, and went to a breathtaking ballet performance. 💫 The dancers moved with grace and elegance, telling stories without a single spoken word. The sheer talent on that stage was unbelievable! 💃
And the final act of my New York adventure? The most adorable picnic in Central Park! 🧺 My friends and I found the most idyllic spot - nestled under a lush green canopy of leaves, the air filled with the sound of laughter and music. The warm sunlight streamed through the leaves, dappling our faces in a shower of pink-tinted rays, just like magic. ✨
It truly was a perfect day.
Now, let's talk fashion, darling! 💄 New York is undoubtedly a fashion capital, a melting pot of style and trends. I just love watching the way people express themselves through their clothing - it's an endless source of inspiration for my own wardrobe! Just remember to always keep an eye out for those hidden gems - you never know where you might find the next great pink tutu outfit! 🩰
Of course, no trip to New York would be complete without a dose of delicious food. 😋 This city is a culinary haven, boasting everything from upscale dining to charming cafes, all boasting their own unique flavours.
