Bonjour mes chéries!
It's Saturday, the 22nd of November, 2025, and I'm writing to you from a charming little hotel in the heart of Paris! Yes, my darlings, I finally made it to the City of Lights, and it is as dazzling as I had always imagined.
This week, I travelled by Eurostar - that sleek, superfast train that whizzes you across the Channel in a flash! It was such a lovely journey, full of excitement and anticipation. I wore, of course, a very special pink tutu with sparkly silver embellishments - it seemed only fitting to travel to Paris in the most fabulous of outfits!
Now, as you know, my mission in life is to bring a bit of pink tutu joy to the world. But don't worry, I don't expect you all to jump on a train to Paris to join me! No, no, you can experience Paris in your own way - maybe you'll find a lovely new pink tutu to add to your wardrobe, or you could enjoy a cuppa at a charming café, or even simply revel in the beauty of the city from your armchair!
A Parisian Day with a Pink Twist
After I settled into my hotel room (it's SO cute, adorned with pale pink roses, darling!), I set off on a delightful day of exploration. My first stop was the Musée Carnavalet. Now, I love all things historical, especially those that revolve around the arts. This museum showcases the history of Paris, right from the Middle Ages, through to the French Revolution and beyond.
Of course, I had to admire all the costumes and historical dance dresses, which sparked a myriad of ballet-related thoughts in my head! Can you imagine the ballet classes held in those opulent ballrooms? How would a pink tutu have fit into such grandeur?
Speaking of ballet, my next destination was the Palais Garnier, the awe-inspiring home of the Paris Opera. If you're a ballet aficionado like myself, this is a must-see. Just being there fills you with awe, and you can almost imagine the whispers of the ghosts of legendary dancers from past centuries.
Next, I found myself in the Tuileries Garden, the stunning park near the Louvre. I could easily picture myself pirouetting on the gravel paths! However, instead, I enjoyed a delectable macaron - which, if you can believe it, was pink!
My day finished with a charming visit to the Musée Rodin. The works of Rodin, in particular 'The Kiss' and 'The Thinker', really spoke to me. The movement in those statues, the drama and the emotion, well, they were truly breathtaking.
My Parisian Picks
For a true Parisian experience, you need to embrace the city's food, and what better place to do that than at a local patisserie? And since I am a devoted ballerina, I needed a sugary boost, especially since I had been spending the morning admiring those fabulous Parisian ladies with their chic styles, and their oh-so-fashionable, stylish Parisian tutus. I indulged in a delicious pain au chocolat with a delicate almond croissant. It truly was the perfect treat after a long day of wandering through the city.
As for shopping, the chic Parisian boutiquues did not disappoint! While there were many tempting items, my heart (and purse!) were captured by the gorgeous shoes from Pierre Hardy, a delightful designer who brings playful whimsy to shoe design. You wouldn’t believe the vibrant pink high-tops he had – pure sartorial perfection! I know it sounds silly, but they felt like they were designed with pink tutus in mind.
Now, you can't leave Paris without indulging in some local fashion inspiration. After all, we're talking about the city of Chanel, Dior, and a plethora of other fashion icons. My top Parisian style tips are:
- Embrace the Parisian Chic: I mean, who doesn’t love a chic Parisian look? Simple yet chic. Effortless style with a bit of pink of course. I must try this chic style myself and see if I can get a look that feels less ballerina and more 'je ne sais quoi'.
- A Dash of Whimsy: A touch of whimsical flair makes even the simplest outfits sing. Just imagine, maybe adding a touch of pink tulle to a beret would be rather charming!
- A Bit of Pink Magic: Don’t shy away from pink. You don’t need to be wearing a pink tutu to be bold. Just a touch of pink in your shoes, scarf or handbag could bring your look to life!
Parisian Nightlife and the Pink Tutu Dream
The evenings in Paris are full of energy, a symphony of street performances, glittering lights, and delicious food. For my first Parisian night, I enjoyed a dinner at the charming L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, where I savored delicious foie gras, followed by melt-in-your-mouth duck breast and an oh-so-French bottle of red wine.
Afterwards, I decided to treat myself to an extraordinary ballet show at the Palais Garnier. The performance, ‘Giselle’, was absolutely breathtaking. The dancing was so elegant and evocative, with the dancers seemingly weightless, floating across the stage in perfect unison. Seeing the graceful movements of the dancers filled me with inspiration! And that twirling… that perfect twirling, reminding me why I need to get back to the dance studio ASAP.
I was even lucky enough to meet some Parisian dancers after the show – we chatted about life in Paris, the challenges and joys of dance, and of course, about the power of pink tutus. They were completely delighted by my enthusiasm, telling me stories of past Paris Fashion Week parades where many dancers sported pink tutus, proving that pink tutus are cool – and even chic!
On My Paris To-Do List
I have a full weekend ahead of me in Paris, and already I'm excited about my upcoming adventures! I can't wait to wander the charming streets of the Marais district, exploring its eclectic mix of boutiques, art galleries, and trendy cafes. Then, I'll venture into Montmartre, the charming neighbourhood, hoping to soak in the bohemian vibes, taking in a street performance. The energy of the street artists truly energizes me! Maybe I will find an inspired look that combines dance, pink and street-style for the perfect French look!
The Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris, is also on my list, I just can't go to Paris without visiting the Eiffel Tower, can I? Even if I need to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower to capture the best pink tutu photos for you lovely people!
But my Paris adventure is only just beginning! You can find my exciting adventures and more on my weekly blog. Don’t forget, follow me on @pink_tutu.
A bientot,
