As you know, Iām all about turning the world pink, one twirling tutu at a time. And this week, I'm taking you with me to the heart of Europe, where the cobblestone streets whisper stories and the magical architecture makes you believe in fairytales.
Itās Wednesday, which means a fresh pink blog post for you lovely lot! And this week, it's all about Prague. Prague. The very name sends a shiver down my spine. Imagine it: gothic towers reaching for the heavens, bridges spanning a glistening river, and charming squares buzzing with life. Oh, darling, it truly is a dream come true.
This trip's all about experiencing the rich tapestry of Pragueās culture. And what better way to do it than through the magical lens of ballet? So buckle up, my lovelies, for a journey that will take us from cobbled streets to glittering stages, all in the name of a love for dance andā¦of courseā¦a healthy dose of pink.
A Fairy Tale Train Journey
Let's start with the journey. I'm a firm believer that part of the adventure is in the getting there, and, darling, my journey here was a dream! I love taking the train, so, of course, that was how I arrived.
It felt like stepping into a fairytale - soaring views of green countryside passing by my window as the sleek train whisked me through the European heartlands. The scenery felt straight out of a romantic novel, and I was so inspired by the dreamy hues of the fields that I spent most of the journey sketching designs for my new collection ā let's just say, my next line of pink tutus is going to have some very pretty countryside flourishes!
Pink Tutu Fashion
I wouldnāt be me if I didnāt make an effort with my travelling wardrobe, of course. I canāt travel in just any outfit!
For this journey, I chose my softest pink chiffon top and my sparkly āDancing in the Cloudsā tutu in blush. The perfect pairing for a magical journey. The tulle, darling, is so floaty that it almost feels like it's twirling along with me, which is always a plus when you're on the move. I kept my accessories minimal; just some simple diamond earrings to add a touch of elegance. And, of course, a dainty little pink rucksack ā one that has ample space for my travel necessities and a compact fold-up version of my favorite barre so I could practise wherever I went. You can't ever skip a ballet class, can you?
Arrival in the City of Spires
As the train steamed into the majestic Prague Central Station, I felt a thrill run through me. Imagine my excitement as I caught my first glimpse of the iconic Astronomical Clock. It felt as though the entire city was calling to me, with its whispering spires and enchanting charm.
And of course, what awaited me in the station was an even better greeting than that magical clock: a carriage drawn by a beautiful white pony with pink ribbon bows woven into its mane. Oh, my darling! I've always loved ponies, but this was the fairytale carriage of my dreams! The perfect start to my journey, a touch of pure magic in this most wonderful city.
Pragueās Ballet Scene: An Invitation to Dance
Okay, letās dive straight in. Youāve all seen my fabulous ballerina routines, and you all know I'm here in Prague for the ballet. As always, darling, I made it my mission to discover Pragueās ballet scene. Thereās something absolutely captivating about how the beauty of movement intersects with the historic atmosphere of the city. Iām delighted to share a glimpse into the ballet performances that took my breath away:
National Theatre ā The Majesty of Tradition
First on my agenda, my darling, was the majestic National Theatre. Imagine an opulent building with shimmering chandeliers, plush velvet seating and a stage where legends have performed ā simply breathtaking! I was lucky to catch "Giselle" by the Prague National Theatre Ballet Company. The passion and precision of the dancers brought the timeless story of Giselle to life ā I just had to clap until my hands hurt!
Opera House ā An Opera Under the Stars
Pragueās opera scene, my dear, is simply magical. I snuck out for a special treat ā an opera under the stars, a truly unique experience. Imagine, the beauty of classical music carried through the warm air on a beautiful evening as the sky is painted with shimmering stars ā utter perfection!
Street Performances ā Ballet with a Twist
Now, for those of you who are all about a touch of magic in your day, I recommend venturing to the streets! Prague's heart beats with vibrant street performances, and, my dears, the ballet is well-represented! There's something wonderfully whimsical about catching a street performance: you never know what you're going to see. The joy of unexpected encounters and the creativity of those daring souls who dance in the open air.
Pink Tutu Inspiration - From the Streets of Prague
A fashion blogger's journey wouldn't be complete without a visit to some incredible boutiques! Oh darling, let me tell you, the boutiques in Prague are absolute gems.
The streets of Old Town are alive with the most whimsical shops, bursting with textures, colours, and incredible design. It felt like stepping into a fairytale of luxurious fabrics and vintage lace. And then there's the charming market square. Where else can you find exquisite jewellery, handcrafted pottery, and oh so much more! But what I loved the most? Those vibrant little stalls filled with the most delightful pink flowers imaginable, giving me inspiration for a whole new range of flowery tutus.
Prague Castle - The Fairy Tale Ending
But darling, I couldn't leave Prague without a visit to Prague Castle ā the very embodiment of a fairytale! Standing majestically atop a hill overlooking the city, this historical jewel is just utterly breathtaking! Imagine stepping through time as you wander through its beautiful courtyards, admire its grand towers, and listen to the whisper of stories from centuries past. It's like a scene from a dream ā so perfectly enchanting!
My final evening was a spectacular one! With a blush-tinted sunset illuminating the sky and the magnificent Prague Castle as my backdrop, I decided to indulge in my favourite pastime: a solo ballet performance for my darling blog readers. The magical setting, my pink tutu shimmering in the warm glow of the sunset ā it felt like the perfect fairytale ending to my Prague adventure.
From Pink to Prague ā A City of Love and Dreams
Prague, my dear, has stolen my heart. With its breathtaking beauty, vibrant culture, and the enchanting melody of its cobblestone streets, itās truly a city of dreams. It has inspired me, darling, to spread my love of pink and my passion for ballet even further, and itās inspired me to add some Czech design elements to my new line of tutus. I can already see the potential!
