Ciao Bella!
It's Wednesday, which means it's time for another #PinkTutuRome blog post, straight from the heart (and tutus!) of Rome! Can you believe it's December already? Time really does fly when you're wearing a pink tutu and exploring a city as enchanting as Rome!
A Journey by Train:
As always, I made my way to the Eternal City via train β there's something so magical about arriving in a new place by rail. Watching the scenery whiz by, especially the rolling Tuscan countryside, never fails to inspire me. Itβs such a fantastic, romantic, and relaxing way to travel. Plus, the journey gave me a chance to catch up on some much-needed reading about Roman history! (I'm always up for a little cultural enrichment, especially when I can do it whilst wearing my favourite pink tutu.)
Pink Power in Rome:
I must say, Rome has been exceptionally pink this week! Everywhere I turned, there was something pink catching my eye β a vintage scooter painted pastel pink, a shop window overflowing with fuchsia roses, a delicious gelato topped with strawberry swirls... it's a pink paradise! Naturally, I wore my favourite tulle-tastic pink tutu throughout the week. My aim is, of course, to get everyone wearing a pink tutu - one twirling, fabulous step at a time!
Ballet Dreams Come True:
You know I can't go anywhere without indulging my passion for ballet! This week, I was lucky enough to see a performance by the Opera di Roma at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma. It was absolutely breathtaking. The costumes, the dancing, the music β all simply exquisite! I even caught up with a few ballet students after the performance. The joy in their eyes was infectious and reminds me why I started dancing in the first place! You know Iβm a proud Derbyshire girl β but I have to say the Italian passion for the arts truly captivates!
Rome's Timeless Charm:
Exploring the historical sites of Rome never fails to amaze me. This week, I spent time walking through the Roman Forum and Colosseum, marvelling at the grandeur of the ancient empire. Then, it was time for a gelato break! Nothing beats strolling through the cobblestone streets, sipping a cappuccino, and devouring a creamy, delicious gelato whilst taking in all the beauty of the city! Itβs these small moments that I cherish the most.
A Fashionable Feast:
Rome, like any major fashion capital, is a shopping paradise! I spent an afternoon in the beautiful, historical, and trendy Trastevere district, exploring its unique boutiques. They had everything a pink tutu loving, fashionable girl could desire! The local craftsmanship and style of these designers truly impressed me, and I had to treat myself to a few gorgeous silk scarves for my upcoming performance back in Derbyshire! I just know I will make an absolute spectacle of myself in those silk scarves with my signature pink tutu - after all, I have a very important role in the ballet back in my home county and the show is sold out! The audience are expecting fireworks in pink, of course!
Dinner with a View:
What better way to end the day than with a romantic dinner overlooking the Roman Forum? As I twirled my way through the delicious Italian cuisine, the twinkling lights of Rome painted the cityscape in a soft, romantic glow. The music, the delicious food, and the ambiance were unforgettable.
Ciao for now, from Pink Tutu Rome!
As another incredible week in Rome draws to a close, I can't help but feel incredibly grateful for this opportunity to experience the magic of the Eternal City through the lens of my pink tutu. If you're looking for a place to let your inner ballerina twirl free, look no further than Rome! This city truly embodies beauty, culture, and romance, all intertwined with a sprinkle of pink magic!
Keep those tutus twirling, Emma xo
