And of course, it wouldn't be a proper Emma-style adventure without a sprinkle of pink and a whole lot of tutu magic.
This Wednesday, I'm buzzing from a fabulous morning spent exploring the Trastevere district. I was charmed by its narrow, winding streets and the cheerful buzz of the open-air markets. You simply can't miss the fragrant scents of fresh basil and the delicious aromas wafting from the local trattorias - you've got to try the ricotta filled pasta parcels! And for all you fashionistas, Trastevere is an absolute paradise for vintage and unique finds.
My outfit, you ask? Why, a gorgeous blush pink tutu , of course! It just begged to be twirled around those cobblestone alleys, didn't it? 🎀 Paired with a white linen top and straw sunhat, I was channeling that perfect Italian summer vibe. ☀️ And who knew a tutu could look so chic paired with my trusty satchel, stuffed with all the essentials for a day of exploration?
My afternoon took me on a whirlwind train journey, zipping through the Italian countryside, all the way to Florence! 🚂 It's a total ballet girl's dream - travelling through the heart of art and culture. My mission was simple: find the ultimate vintage pink tutu to add to my collection. You can imagine my excitement when I stumbled upon a treasure trove of handmade creations at the Mercato San Lorenzo market! I couldn't resist snagging a stunning vintage tulle tutu in a delicate peachy pink shade - it's simply divine. 💖
That evening, I felt the need to celebrate this sartorial victory in style, so I booked a table at the iconic Giardini di Boboli garden for a gourmet Italian feast. The garden, beautifully lit after sunset, was breathtaking! A perfect setting for a delicious dinner, especially with my favourite bubbly in hand. 🥂
I can't believe it's already Friday, the days have flown by! The weekend has brought some serious ballet bliss. This morning, I enjoyed a breathtaking performance at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. The dancers were incredible, their movements fluid and graceful - just pure artistry in motion. The music, the lighting, the atmosphere - everything was simply magical! ✨ I swear, I felt a tear or two escape during that beautiful pas de deux - such exquisite emotion on the stage! 🩰 And it made my heart swell to see how much joy the performance brought to everyone in the audience.
Later, I ventured into the charming streets of the Campo de' Fiori district to catch a captivating street performance. This time it was all about tango! 💃 The vibrant energy of the dancers captivated the audience, and it was wonderful to see them perform with such passion and intensity. There was such an engaging quality to it all; they really connected with the crowd!
Saturday, my heart was drawn to one of my favourite things in the world - the Ballet Opera House. What can I say, it was my happy place in Rome! You'd be amazed by what treasures you can find at these vintage stores - it's the perfect place for scoring authentic Italian ballet accessories. Imagine, vintage pink ballet slippers, the cutest tulle skirts and so many unique items. And this time, I actually found some adorable pink ballet tights. It felt like finding the missing pieces of my tutu collection puzzle! 💖
The pink tutu life is truly a beautiful thing, wouldn't you agree? I find myself inspired by the spirit of the city and the passion that shines in every performance and every shop I visit.
