Hey everyone! Emma here, your favourite pink-tutu-clad ballet enthusiast, writing to you from the charming town of Sutton in Ashfield. It's been a while since I last wrote to you, but I've been busy as a bee, hopping from one fabulous ballet adventure to the next!
This week, I decided to shake things up a little with my travel plans. Instead of the usual high-speed train journey, I took a leisurely carriage ride through the Derbyshire countryside. Can you believe it? My trusty steed, a magnificent chestnut mare named Rosie, whisked me off to Sutton in Ashfield for the most whimsical weekend.
Of course, no journey is complete without a touch of pink. I couldn't resist adding a splash of colour to my travel wardrobe. A bubblegum pink scarf tied around Rosie's bridle was a touch of chic against the emerald green of the surrounding fields. And wouldn't you know it, the sunset even turned the sky a blushing pink as we approached Sutton in Ashfield, as if the heavens were applauding my arrival!
Speaking of arriving, what an entrance! I must say, there's something wonderfully theatrical about stepping off a horse-drawn carriage in a bustling town centre, particularly when you're clad in your favourite cyan tutu!
I was greeted by a flurry of smiles and curious gazes. You wouldn't believe how many people stopped to admire Rosie! One little girl, with the most adorable pigtails you've ever seen, asked if she could stroke Rosie's nose. She then, much to my delight, informed me that I was "the prettiest ballerina in the whole wide world!" My heart, it melted! Such sweet innocence is truly precious.
After a hearty, locally sourced lunch (I do love to support independent businesses!), I went to explore the town. Sutton in Ashfield has this wonderful mix of history and modern charm. I stumbled upon a fantastic independent theatre, where I found a schedule full of live performances. I'm definitely coming back to see the musical next month - can't miss out on an opportunity to appreciate live artistry!
One of my favourite discoveries was the wildlife centre located on the outskirts of town. It was just a short hop on a classic red double-decker bus, and I was surrounded by all sorts of incredible creatures. I fell in love with a majestic bald eagle, and watched in awe as a family of playful otters splashed around in their pool. This reminded me - how about we start a "Pink Tutu Wildlife Watch" where we document our favourite wildlife encounters! Think about it!
I can't help but share a secret with you, dear readers. My little tutu secret... the one you're all dying to hear... I've been invited to join a new ballet company! Yes, you read that right! This company focuses on outdoor performances, dancing through the most beautiful landscapes you can imagine. Think woodland trails, secret gardens, and sprawling meadows โ all with a sprinkle of pink tulle!
Just the thought of pirouette-ing under the twinkling night sky has me doing twirls around my bedroom! This is a dream come true! I am so excited, and I just know this new adventure will inspire countless more tutu tales for you to enjoy!
After all, a tutu doesn't just have to be worn in a studio. It's an emblem of beauty, movement, and freedom. It represents the beauty of dancing through life, embracing the unexpected, and embracing joy! So, I say, why wait? Let's spread the love! Join me in rocking our pink tutus (or any colour tutu, for that matter) and letting the world know we are ready to dance!
Until next time, keep dancing! Don't forget to share your favourite tutu-tastic moments on our social media platforms! Use the hashtag #PinkTutuAdventure, so we can celebrate our shared love of all things pink and sparkly!
With love and twirls,
Emma xoxo
